Really bad first experience (motorbike, no plans)

I was following the tutorial, I get past the first stage after dying from food poisoning (on easy mode). I finish the first part and it tells me to build a motorbike. I go to my portable constructor and unlike every other entry the parts needed for the motorbike are motorbike plans.

No help, no tips, no clue how to get the plans. What the heck kind of tutorial is this? Extremely frustrating.

The tutorial is in sad shape. It hasnt been properly updated in a while so there will some areas that don't make sense.

The motorbike, in the portable constructor, you want the components tab (looks like two gears) and in the bottom row is the motor bike componets kit (looks like a dismantled bike). Build this and then you can build the bike.

I know the game is in early access but devs really need to either make sure the tutorial works (because those in the tutorials are LEARNING to play the game) or leave it our until later. Maybe it was my mistake to try and do the tutorial instead of just doing random things. :)

The motor bike is the buggiest thing in the game and I believe they have plans to remove it because it keeps bugging out.

Motorbike was one of the earliest things in the game. The game sorta outgrew it, and I expect it to phase out. There`s just some mystical attraction about two wheelers in RL and, in games. But. If people have never ridden a motor bike/cycle in RL, they probably can`t "at first" in games. In RL the only time you can go full bore over hills is in arenas, dirt track racing, but not mountains at all. C`mon, go over a mountain on a bike? really? Hover vessels cost almost nothing. (And you can set production speed at instant craft) ;-) just sayin

The bike sucks sick of trying to fish it out of lakes or stopping dead on little rocks.

When a hover vessel goes so much faster, goes over water, very responsive. Bikes are turds but shouldn`t sour one`s play in this game. good times are coming. Or not;-)

You are a noob until you crash the bike into a tree at least twice, drive into water at least twice, flip over backwards on a mountain and for extra points sail off into space.

And if you do a 2 point landing, on your feet, after re entry, you get a planet named after you;-)

Yeah just remember hills with lakes hidden behind them are the most common killers of bikers who have no armor on.

I would have enjoyed dying to the motorbike rather than not noticing I was being chewed on by a bug when reading through the PDA. One easy mode. lol I looked at the bike recipe, then realized that the game is nothing more than a huge recipe grind right now and uninstalled.

It looks really cool, it ran well for me, and I really want to like it ... but not with that kind of tedium. I'll try it again in a few versions.

Empyrion is a lot more than a recipe grind. Version 12 will be coming out soon. You could give it another try then. I think Empyrion is very enjoyable once you get into it and really give the game a chance..

You do not need to make the Motorbike kit first. Just go to the devices tab and build the Motorbike directly. All of the components to make it including the kit will be made first automatically.

The one, maybe only, advantage the motorbike has over the HV is that you can pick it back up so that drones don't destroy it while you're busy.
