Simple question about Difficulty setting
CAN you re-set player Difficulty while in the Same game .. I started in SP - Easy which was the Auto setting for game and I would like to kick it up to Normal and get a feel for that.
I already moved a couple setting to Normal as npc - drones and enemy .. but as of yet - I haven't notice much change. They give you that option in the Load Screen, but does it work.
HOPING not to have to start a new Game and loose what I have built. Thanks

If you built a ship, you can save it as a blueprint with right alt o, same goes for a base. I believe you do have to restart to get the effect in change though.

As far as I can tell, and this may just be me, but the higher difficulties play out like this:
Harder to kill enemies = more ammo needed, more time falling back and healing up/repairing/replacing blocks... and that's about it. IMO the difficulty only exacerbates some of the more tedious aspects of this game instead of increasing the AI's ability and actually increasing the challenge for the player.

Don't get me wrong, the challenge does increase, just not in a very meaningful way. For my time I play on easy with max resources available, large quantity ore pockets and fast factory and constructor times. I guess the best way to break it down would be to say what takes you an hour on easy may take you 4 on hard. It's perseverance that makes you successful on the higher difficulties, not ability and that's why I've choosen to forgo them for easy. Also I've restarted survival so many times I can't bring myself to slog through start after start at the slower paces.

The true difficulty comes when you start on the dangerous planets. Akua takes care of you like a newborn. The others not so much.

Also sorry if my views here are off the mark. These are just my observations from playing for a while.

And to answer your question there is no way to change those settings after you start a survival game.

Well, more shooting things mean much more XP.

Harder in EGS usually just means slower.

Enemies become bullet sponges but the AI isn't smarter.
