Ammo for Sentry Gun

I'm a new player, forgive the dumb questions.

I started a tutorial game and set up camp at an Old Farm it led me to.
I'd seen some hostile horned humanoids roaming around at night, but when they started hanging around my base during the day, I went to install a Sentry Gun.

I put it on my base block, and saw I could climb in, but when I do there's no ammo and I can't 'reload' it. I noticed my base also has a cargo box, and so I tried putting some 5.8 ammo in there, but still no dice.

How do I get ammo in my Sentry Gun?

You have to make an Ammo box, and put the ammo in that

also make sure you make the right ammo for the right gun. also dont forget to go into your base setting (Press P) then select the gun and make sure you untick everything bar alien(Drones) and Preditors. This will then only shoot the hostiles and not everything that moves. If you leave it on the defult everything within 300m will be killed
