Painting Symbols?

I swear I was able to do this before but for the life of me I can't figure it out. How do I paint symbols? [change colors] :(

paint gun for color and texture & symble gun for the other

Oh I know how to change block colors and paint symbols/textures on them... but my question was can I change the color of the symbol itself? They all show as white. The danger stripe one seems to let me paint it different colors after applying but the rest don't...

as far as i've been able to tell, letters and symbols are always white, with the exception of the yellow danger stries
you can paint under them, but if it's not a darker color the symbol's not going to stand out :(
(possible i'm wrong though and theres a secret way to change them)

That's kind of what I was afraid of as the lightbulb clicking in while writing previous reply. Welp, hopefully in the future!

My bad. But, yeah. It certainly would be nice to change those as well.

Yea, currently there is no way to change symbols. Maybe if enough people request it we can get more symbols in differnt colors (hint hint).

No way to color symbols now... but can make different color signs using monitors. Not quite what you wanted though.

Given the modular system they did with textures and paint, I'm guessing it's on the books but just hasn't been done yet. Absolutely worth suggesting tho. I'm guessing they ran into some issue with it and put it on hold as it seems unlikely no one thought of it. :)
