Elevator Lights do not turn on if they are too far from the core
I've been expanding on my base and the lights on the elevator blocks stop lighting up if the block is too far from the core. The elevator blocks still work, they just do not have the lights on.

You have a block limit for distance from core and I think it is about 120 block max in any direction. Saw that on their build site. Don't what your distance is, just a thought.

How far are you from the core, roughly? Just out of curiousity.

If you're too far to build the game doesn't let you build, so no worries there.

I'd have to count, I can't as right now as it was on a friends server. But it must have been pretty far. The core was on one end of the base and the elevators were on the other. The base was a size class 3 and I rmemeber one of the dimensions being over 100.

The elevators in question were put into place on landing pad I connected to the base using the connect feature in the build menu, so That may be why I could place them so far away.

Moving The core closer to the elevator blocks did get them to light up though.

I wasn't asking for hte exact count, more like a rough idea. But that's interesting that moving hte core made them light up, because that means they weren't powered up. I wonder what else would not get power if far from the core.

But the connect feature won't allow you to build past the 300 block limit, just the same as if you didn't use it.

I wonder why the elevators still work with no power then. The only difference was the visual lights not being on.

Elevators work reguardless of whether the base has power or not. If that section of the base is not connetced to the main part, it may not actually be getting any power. I'm not sure if remote sections of a base need their own generators or not. Multi building POIs would suggest so.

weird ...
I'm currently buiding a BA and I put some elevators on it ...
the one at the bottom are fine but some others aren't (no light)
and the weird thing is some working are further away from the core than those not working
(so basically bottom and top are lit but not middle)

It's just a display bug. Turning the structure off and back on, or reloading the game fixes it.

This is likely a temporary "feature": if you exit the game session - not the whole game - and restart it, they will likely appear as illuminated. The same bug applies to the illuminated textures for blocks; in every instance where some but not all have randomly appeared "unlit" when the base was powered, simply restarting that session made them behave. I think I've encountered the same with elevator blocks.

Some day perhaps it will be fixed....
