How to use the Furnace!
I have Cargo Controllers hooked up to a Furnace, but there's no way to smelt the ore!

Same like the Constructors:

Choose 1 Cargo Box/Controler for Input and another 1 for Output!
Then you just need to turn On the Furnace.

Absolutely nothing happens when you do that!

You can also choose the same container for both input and output, by the way. I haven't used a Furnace with the new logistics system, so I'm unsure what is causing your problem. Furnaces draw MASSIVE power when active; is it possible your generator or capacitor(s) are simply being overwhelmed when you turn it on and that you're "blowing the breaker"?

It was hot, like it was turned on and I got the character heat warning, but there is no ore going into the Furnace! All the slots are empty! It has Cargo Controller with Ore as Input and a different one as output! I cannot drag items into the furnace, due to being locked (in use by the furnace)! There are no recipes either..

Ok! This is getting to the point where it's just stupid and I don't wanna waste more time with this game.. I have a fully operational base with all the machines and turrets, and now when the drones are coming to attack, the friggin turrets don't even start shooting until they are 1 meter away! This game is so poorly made that it's incredible that you get to load the main menu!

You don't actually drag anything into the Furnace queue. When you set up an input/output box with ore in the Input box, just turn the Furnace on and stay out of the cargo boxes set up for input/output. It'll automatically smelt the ore. If you click on the Furnace again and watch the ore numbers in the Input box, you'll see it declining about 10-20 per couple seconds.

Do you have the turrets set up to auto-attack NPC factions? If so, it sounds like it might be a bug.

I have never seen that happen, nor do I recall anyone else complaining about it.

No, there are no recipes because it simply smelts any ore you feed it into the corresponding ingots. You must feed it by accessing the input container directly via logistics and place the ore in the container. Once you've done that, the rest is automatic IF you have enough power.

Furnace like:
Iron, Cobalt, Copper, Sathium, Neodymium, Zascosium, Erestrum and Gold.

Funrace dislikes:
Dirt, Silicon and Magnesium.

Well how would you expect the furnace to disambiguate Crushed Rock? There are several recipes to process Crushed Rock into small amounts of several ores. The Furnace requires inputs for which the output is not ambiguous.

I don't recall having problems with silicon or magnesium ores in a furnace, but it's been a while. If that is a problem, it might be correctable with modding.

I have this happen too but not consistently. On average I would guess every 5th or 6th drone attack....I've had several times when the drones have been shot down and landed directly on my base. It is annoying and no real reason why it should happen...but not game breaking.

So I'm not the alone in my frustration. Been killed several time when it's a rocket/Plasma that gets that close. Been building an armored concrete wall a short way in the attacking direction to Try to stop this.

You're referring specifically to the new drone bombers. Since they fly in at high altitude (relative to the normal drones) and also have inertia, it's not surprising to me that they can sometimes plummet into a base. Remember your Pythagorean theorem? The same distance to reach a high-flying object appears much shorter in the horizontal than an object skimming the surface as normal drones do.

That's not the same thing as "... don't even start shooting until they are 1 meter away" (which might have been an exaggeration).

Cannon Turrets or better, Minigun and Sentry Turrets will struggle against Drones. Furnace won't handle Promethium, Penataxid or Magnesium.

Just a quick question. Do you have enough power for the furnace and everything else in the base?

I have no idea how your furnace isn't working. Just make a regular cargo box and stick 50 copper ores in it. Set that box as the input and set it as output. Turn the furnace on and what happens?
