Empyrion - Galactic Survival

HELP, Invisible Spiders Inside my base keep killing me!
Started recently after I came back from some scouting around for a couple of game days. Went inside to find several Visible Spiders and a Blue one clipping in/out of a wall . Killed the inside Spiders, then went outside and killed that Blue one, went back inside and got killed by Invisible spider(s). WTH? I tried climbing on some Constructors and used the sight on my Shotgun to see if it would turn red and just shoot there. NOPE. I have had this base from the early part of my game and never had this happen before. It was a Public base that I started using. Base is Called Hongo on the Planet Chatolis north of the landing area.

My game information: Playing on Normal/Medium Survival SP.
This THING started after 140+ hours of game play.
Things that I have tried: Exited game, came back in. Same thing.
Completed left EGS and closed Steam, restarted and Same thing.
Above plus re-booted PC. Same thing.
Left base for several game days including getting killed by enemies, came back. Same thing.
Validated game files through Steam, re-started game. Same thing.
VERY frustrated that this keeps persisting.

Any help would be appreciated. I like the game, BUT this is crazy to keep happening.

They are not invisible. NPCs are able to clip HALFWAY through a block, to the midpoint. NPCs that are longer than one block can thus reach partially into your base IF your exterior wall is only one block thick. This is made even worse if you have used "thin" blocks for the exterior. Depending on how the floor was constructed, NPCs can even appear to come up through the floor if their height is less than one block.

Either make the exterior walls of your base TWO blocks thick, OR build a separate "picket fence" around your base to keep wandering NPCs from being able to approach your living space. I would strongly recommend the fence! If an NPC is allowed to approach any part of the base you might physically occupy too closely, the NPC will "smell" you even through walls and will then try to attack if hostile (or can become hostile in proximity).

Please mark this as an answer in the hope that other people will find this and not ask again.

Thanks for the Answer. :-) I will mark it as you suggest once I verify that fixes it. Can I kill the Spider somehow so that I do not wall it inside the perimeter?

That is my suggestion also. To be safer you can even use godmode invisible, but remember to disable it again when you're done... it really does make you invisible to everything.

I thought it was bug. Why NPC can attack through wall without destroying Blocks? It makes no sense.

Thanks Folks. I will try your suggestions ASAP. It was making me crazy that I could go into my own base without getting killed. Yes, part of my outer walls are the Thin version. I was going to upgrade the walls anyway, now that will be moved up in my to do list LOL

As I explained, it's simply a limitation (currently) of the way blocks and collisions with NPCs are handled. You might be tempted to call it a bug, but it's just a limitation of the game design. I don't know if it can be improved later.

Final Update> Found 2 Blues & 2 Regular Spiders under the Floor. DEAD now. Changed all walls to full size blocks, changed some old floor area to solid concrete. Added buffer blocks to extend concrete past outside walls. THANK YOU for the help. Now I can go back to having some fun again.
