Do you use Windows 10?
Looking into the issue it seems to correlate with a specific windows 10 update. Specifically update 1709. It has effected games such as Arma3 and PUBG as well, although the info seems much older. Some posts are even from 2017.
When you tried disabling the fullscreen opt did you do it for every .exe file related to empyrion? This seemed to help the majority of people with this error albeit with different games.
i don't like to give up on things, much less things i really like.. but without any solutions from one of all of you... i'm pretty defeated..
Then update your graphics card drivers.
Its a Direct-x issue, very likely drivers.
Whats your system specs ?
Other things you can try when you get this error in games.
1) Press the Windows logo key
When you see this bad_module_info error, the first thing you can try is to put your game in the background. Specifically, press the Windows logo key on your keyboard when you see this error. This will invoke the Start menu and you will leave your game. Then go back to your game and see if this fixes your issue.
2) Disable fullscreen optimization
Fullscreen optimization is a feature introduced by Windows to improve graphics performance of an application. This feature, however, can sometimes cause FPS drop or game crash. You can try disabling it and see if this help you get rid of the bad module info error. To do so:
a) Right-click the desktop shortcut of your game and select Properties.
b) Click the Compatibility tab. Select the check box of Disable fullscreen optimizations. Then click OK.
c) Try running your game and see if you get rid of the error.
3) Update your drivers from the PC's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.
4) If nothing else helps then Reset the PC: http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/reset-windows...
5) If nothing else helps what I'd do at this point is wait a few days for Spring Creators Update to be released, install Media Creation Tool from this link and choose Upgrade This PC Now: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...
This is the most stable way to change to the newer version and because it reinstalls WIndows while keeping your files and programs in place, fixes most problems. It also brings all Windows Updates to date.
If there are any hurdles during install then these steps can overcome them: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...
You can monitor the Windows 10 Blog here to get notified of the exact date for release of Spring Creators Version 1803 which is soon: https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/#ut...
6) But remember that Factory or Upgrade installs are inferior installs which most enthusiasts won't even run because they'd expect endless issues. Consider now or later doing the Clean Install in this link which compiles the best possible install that will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...
7) There is also an automated Refresh that reinstalls WIndows while shedding corrupting factory bloatware, saves your files, but doesn't clear the drive to get it cleanest: https://www.howtogeek.com/265054/how-to-easily-...
Perusing the patch notes I noticed they have added an option to toggle texture streaming. I'd say toggling it is worth a shot and is a simpler option than reinstalling your os to remove one update which may or may not help..
"Changes:
- added video option "Texture Streaming" to allow players to decide if they want to use it (default active on machines with more than 8GB RAM)
- added special config file 'Empyrion.props' to override settings if, for example, the game crashes early"
AND
"Changes:
- added workaround that machines with 8 GB RAM don't use texture streaming (to avoid crashes)"
These seem to be the only changes not related to balance and added features.
Load up the game. Change the settings. Exit and restart. Perhaps even lower every setting to the lowest. If that helps slowly increase them back to your original settings to see which is the underlying problem.
I'm sorry I could not help resolve your issue. I would seek assistance from Eleon themselves if changing this does not help. Info on this crash seems sparse to say the least as far as the Empyrion community goes.
I'm running an i7, 32gbddr4, geforce 970, standard HDD etc
i tried most of the options piddlefoot suggested other than the OS updating stuff, from answers found in other forums.. none helped i couldnt play for longer than 2-5 minutes, finally just tinkering around i downed a lot of my graphic options, set things from high to medium, set my fps from 60 to 50 etc.. not sure what exactly helped since i did them all at once.. but after that i played almost an hour with no crash.. right when i started thinking i'd found a sideways ass way to work around the issue... it crashed again.
at least at this point i can play a little bit until something gets worked out.
thanks again for the replies.
The first few characters of every line is the timestamp when something occurred. The log entries you posted in your previous response may have been a response to a failure listed somewhere else above in the same log file. After that failure then DirectX freaked out and started throwing the d3d11 entries which became just "noise" because the program was already corrupted due to the original failure/issue.
Find the last of the timestamped entries in the file and look at that line and the previous 20+ log lines and you should get a better idea of what may be causing your crashes.
Just to be clear: you are looking for files named "Client_YYMMDD-HHMMSS-NN.log". The log files will be located in the "Logs" folder inside of sub-folder that corresponds to the build/release # of your current Empyrion client. My current client is build 2777 so my logs are located in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Logs\2777" folder.

Video card manufacturer driver page for that.
According to the log file it appears that your install of Empyrion is only seeing Direct3D 11.1:

Did you do an update on this OS from something like Windows 8?
Do you have multiple Displays -or- multiple video cards installed?
Have you run any diagnostics on your RAM or Video Card RAM to make sure they aren't possibly going bad. I have experienced a number of really weird crashes that sometimes only occur under certain games when one or the other type of RAM is going bad. A simple/single check that runs for only a couple of minutes is not adequate as most RAM/VideoRAM failures occur under load and/or when the system nears specific heat thresholds. Find some kind of stress testing program that you like - personally I used Passmark's benchmark and performance tools, Intel's stress test (aka Intel Processor Diagnostic tool), UL's 3DMark and PCMark.
For checking on the heat sensors built into the devices to look for overheating I tend to use OpenHardwareMonitor although occasionally I use OEM tools if they exist - although you could always use Piriform's Speccy tool in a pinch.
