How does auto mining work?
Hi, I'm a bit confused about this feature. I placed a long time ago a miner on a copper node on Akkrum, and much later I placed some more on the moon on various nodes. Once I went back to the moon and collected the mined ores, but didn't check if the miners keep working.

Now I checked the moon miners again, and they mined nothing, the mining nodes also disappeared from under them, I guess they previously mined all resource?

Now the confusing part is I just checked the auto miner on the planet surface that I placed much earlier than the ones on the moon, but forgot to check on it for a long time. The weird thing is, that it still mines, collected a lot of ores, and the ore deposit didn't disappear either, showing that it still has 100% ore left. So... how is the miner supposed to work?

P.S.: The very first miner that I placed in this playthrough just disappeared along with the node.

Hello, only cylinder formed distribution deposits get depleted by the Auto-Miner, if that option is enabled in settings. If then you have a miner on top of voxel terrain based deposits, it will mine endlessly. Not sure if it is intentional or a game bug or unaddressed technical issue, but that's how it is.

If it is an online server and the admin issues a deposit wipe then you might suffer that your miner is wiped away too, hence why you might have lost yours. It is good to keep your eyes open on announcements and join channels of information on that server, or complain to the admin for the lack of such, and hopefully he/she addresses the issue.

Nah, it's not an online game. So it must be a bug, then.

Have you turned Autominer depletition off? The depletition is on by default, that means Deposits are cleared. Probably what happened on the moon, wich seems your starter planet(i guess) is bugged. Or it could also be that Autominers only work when the playfield is loaded(i.e. you are present).
I could be wrong on the last one.
Things to do to troubleshoot yourself:
  • Clear the games cache, sometimes there're weird bugs happening because of that. Go to: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Cache and delet the folder with your games name.
  • Have you started a new world(or maby this is a fresh new install for A9). Starting a new game for each major version is mandatory, since old Saves can have obsolete systems, it is always recommended to start a new one each time the game gets a major update
  • Otherwise drop a bug report into the offical Forums Bug report Thread.[empyriononline.com]

I hope this helps.

Even if you play singleplayer, the Auto-Miner doesn't deplete voxel-based deposits, regardless if the setting is on or off.
