CPU's and Extenders, Can Someone Explain Pls...?
So with these new cpu's and cargo extenders, how do they work? I am guess that the additions of the cpus are upgrades to allow for more power draw..?

But with the container extenders, does that mean instead of using 5 containers I use 1 container and 4 extenders..?

If someone could please explain this, in simple terms, I would be grateful...

Thanks...

Assuming you don't need to segregate your storage for some reason, yes. The extensions are tricky to use: they must be adjacent to a controller (or other extensions that are), and they can only be adjacent to one controller... "no touching!" You must plan more carefully, since extensions for different controllers - if you have more than one - can never touch sides.

Yeah I don't get the controllers either, it all seems rather complicated to me.. I have just returned to the game and hadn't played since A9..

CPU is kind of like the computers processing power. The more devices the more processing power needed for the computer to control it. The core is T1, then add a single T1 CPU block to upgrade to T2. Add 2 T3 CPU blocks to upgrade to T3. Add 4 T4 CPU blocks to upgrade to T4.

You don't have to have all the previous tier CPU upgrades placed to get the next one (except T1 because thats the core). So if your build is at T1 and you want T4, then you do not need to add T2 and T3, you can just add T4.

If your build uses more CPU than the max you have, it will still function just not as well. The efficency of things like thrusters is reduced by a percentage the more over limit you are.

Cargo blocks aren't that complicated. Place a cargo controller and connect to it as many extenders as you want. Controllers can't touch each other and one set of extenders connected to a controller can't touch another set of extenders connected to a controller. You can have a max of 320,000SU which is 39 extenders and 1 controller assuming you use full sized blocks since the exact SU that a block adds is dependant on it's shape.

OK, I think I am beginning to understand that, thanks a lot... :) I haven't played since A9 so a lot has changed since then..

I'm like Pantherr in that I just returned to the game after an extended time away, one quick question to clarify something for me if you guys can ;)

The CPU upgrades, Iv noticed in all the vids Iv watched so far that they are placed directly next to the core. Is this a must or can you space them out and around the build as you wish ?

You can put them anywhere, but preferably where they have some protection.
