yes just got the same message, norton has indicated a trojan in empyrion after the update today,dont know if its valid or not

i put a submission in to norton...sometimes it can flag perfectly valid files as malicious

Perhaps Unity 2018 has some kind of data it sends, devs would have to confirm this ofc. *follow up, after a quick search it seems this has happened with a few previous versions in the past, usually because of some 3rd party software like a dedicated server launcher.

This looks like a 'false positive'. Please be assured the game is safe to install.

Nortan has many people complaining about it reporting many different games with this virus when in fact they dont actually have this virus.

There are dozens of dedicated servers running just fine in Empyrion with no reports of hackers for ages, and no confirmed reports of any Trojen ever in over 4 years.

Hmmm I just got the automatic steam update of Empyrean blocked by My Norton. First time Norton has actually blocked an automatic update.

This isn't the first time a Steam game has been falsely flagged as a possible virus/whatever. It happens from time to time unfortunately.

Generally when this sort of thing happens with a steam game that's only updated by steam, the only conclusion to draw is that the antivirus is ♥♥♥♥.

So often a few EA games come up a false positive and the usual amount of people swear it is the game's doing. Do you not think that Steam is scanning every update thoroughly before you get it? So if there was really an issue with the EXE it is because of Steam not the game.

Just ignore that and go back to enjoying the game. In the years this game has been around false positives are reported about every 3 months. Likely common for EA games but uncommon for some gamers to know about.

What antivirus do you use then??
I never assume ANYTHING from Steam or ANY other source is safe.

Norton is garbage.
