You will have a leak somewhere maybe like the op one block is not a true block? Look to see what is false blocks have you checked with the building hud? Normally push "N" then the tab at the top and tick the air tight block it will turn green and show gaps (just in case you didn't know you can do this) good luck. Oh also if your using a door this will stop the flow you'll need to put a ventilator in the room

We normal people need screenshots or better a Blueprint
You mention "passenger room," each airtight room has to have it's own ventilator. If you are using standard doors between rooms they are airtight and seperate.
PS: Watch a couple ship build videos.
But without a blueprint from you with the issue i join the "its on your side" party
