Awful stuttering?
So i got this game about a year ago and it had crazy stuttering and i had a gtx 970 at the time.
Now i came back to the game because of alpha 8 which i think is really really good and the game has made great progress however the game still stutters like mad so much so that it makes me feel ill.
I have a completely new computer now with an i7 8700 1080ti and the game is installed on an m2 SSD with 4000mb read speed.
My friend picked up this game in the steam sale but also had stuttering so instantly refunded it.
So is there still no way to fix this issue?
I have searched around and capping my framerate to any value does not help.
It seems many have this issue but it has not been fixed which is a shame as the new build is great and i actually wanted to change my review to positive.
Thank for any advice.

i5 4460, GTX 970. Now that someone has actually posted something like this, I know now it wasn't just me. While it was happening, I was checking my framerates...been running in the low 30's. That wasn't it.. my framerate didn't move. While it was happening, I did notice flashes of names of POI's showing up where there wasn't any. This kind of stuttering hasn't happened with me before. Framerate issues have been lacking sence all the added content, no complaints about that.

No stuttering on a 970 here.

Maybe have somebody qualified look into your new build.

Dude it has nothing to do with GPU its something to do with the game engine.
Like i said i had it before and have it with my new build and my friend had it so refunded.
Also if you watch gameplay vids you can notice the stuttering (moreso when on bike or flying).
Maybe they fix it sometime and i hope they do casue i'll be the first to come back to the game.

I have noticed that it became much more memory hungry with alpha 8. How much system RAM do you have in your fine system? I have a very similar system, and was living with one dead DIMM for a while waiting for ram prices to drop again. Game was brutal until I upgraded RAM. I had to close everything to make it playable (browsers are notoriously ram hungry).
It should run completely stutter free on the system you describe (unless you have minimal ram). I only have the GTX 1050Ti and it's smooth as silk with medium settings.

So your PC only has a GPU CPU and a SSD? Do you have RAM in that machine? It seems based on how you presented your specs you are not using any RAM. I can tell you that RAM is a big issue as it is a big part of loading and this game does a lot of that.

My PC like others is inferior to yours and the game runs buttery smoothe. That said since so many play the game so well just look at all the full MP servers it is on your end. Perhaps your RAM is inferior to the rest of your PC and/or you have less than 16GB and so you are not running enough.

I do not get how people that have an issue with a game this popular assume it is the game that is the issue just because they spent lots of money on their PC. I am sure there are things on your end that could be the issue too. Like maybe trying to play in a Resolution that is higher than the game can handle. After all this is an Alpha build and we should all know what that means as we all should have read the disclaimer before we bought.

Now if you post your full specs and resolution other relevant data I am sure someone could help. Could also send your logs into Eleon so that they can see what is going on. Seems everyone that has those beast PCs are the ones that have the poorest performance in many EA games. This is why I am happy with my mid range pc. This goes to show you Bigger is not Better just costs more.
Wow dawg! Good post! "thumbs up" :steamhappy:

A little presumtious don't you think ?

My game ran 'buttery smooth' too until i think 8.1 (the one that changed inventory sync to 4 secs) and now it stutters quite badly, can't blame that on the pc now can you ?

Edit: quoted the wrong poster :O - corrected

I might have found slight fix, I'm getting way better FPS and when flying/hovering around, it seems for now *and no stutter*. Hoping you have 16gb of ram, I found that my Vram setting was way below par.

*windows 8.1* System, advanced system settings, performance settings, advanced tab, virtual memory change..when you enter that, it should tell you a recommended setting. Anything below that setting could have the effect *stutter* I had encountered.

I wouldn't know how to get to those settings on windows 10, my computer really hated 10 *way too buggy* when I tried to install it. So I stuck with 8.1 for the time being.

I have upped my settings considerably and ran the game at several settings, when I lowered it back down I found the stutter to return. *but for some reason wasn't getting any FPS drop*

Check those settings, hope that gets you back into the cockpit!

I tried this but no joy for me :(.
Thanks for the reply anyway.
I'm gonna keep messing around with settings and so forth to see if I can find some combination that makes it bareable if i find anything i'll post back.

So iv'e messed around with all the settings and found that turning shadows to medium and setting the framerate to 51 also disabeling shader cache in NCP gives me the best results.
With these settings i have no micro stutter but still have the general stutter (especially when driving/flying).
Also if anyone has the time i'de much appreciate it if someone could post a video of the flying/driving around so that I can see that it is possible for the game to run "butter smooth".
Thanks for all the help.
p.s i'm loving the new bigger maps.
