Question about Warp/leaving starting sector
So I have a warp drive, but I've, for the most part, stuck to my starting sector.

I have a ship with a Warp Drive, and I have full for it, but I can't seem to use it, to warp it requires a lock on point, but I can only lock on to the starting sector, I can't actually Leave (there's a yellowish planet I wanted to check out)

I've tried to check google on this, and can't find helpful explanations as to what's going on.

The SV's are only capable of warping 15 AU's or less. For the farther planets and places you need a CV.

Once you lock on the planet, head towards it under normal power until you get up to speed and then press K. If it's in range of your fuel supply and locked on you will warp.

to lock on to a planet, open map then at the top select the Sector Map (just right of the normal map)
select your planet then on the right bottom select Lock, exit map

after that follow margalus's suggestion and aim at the orange marker that is the target
get moving to over 50 m/s and press K

Sorry I didn't clarify, I was IN a CV, and no option was coming up to warp further away. The issue was, I was opening the map, and trying to pick a planet. The problem is, it was ONLY locking on nearby planets within the current "Solar system". No planets further then that were coming up to be a warp target, even though I could clearly see them just looking around my ship in 3rd person.

So I tried just flying at them, and that's when I got the error message about needing a warp drive to be able to travel outside my sector. I had a warp drive, fully charged on a CV, and it wasn't listing planets outside that sector to be a warp target.

Further clarification, I was able to warp to the local planets in the sector but not further then that, and I was Definately in a CV

You have to warp to the planets that you are capable of first. When you warp to the planets that you do have paths to new paths will open up to other planets that weren't available until made your current warp. This is done to promote exploration.

....Then I guess I found a bug, because I only had 2 planets available, warped to both, and after had no further options to warp outside the sector.

Yeah, that sounds bugged if nothing opens up after warping to the only two you could.Take a screenshot your map and post it here. And do you know the seed you started with?

Sadly I didn't keep records. I figured my game was bugged and just decided to mess around with blueprint spawns after that, then deleted the game. This was more of a "Was I doing something wrong" post then a "I need help right now with the thing."

Future reference tho, I'll keep records
