what is needed is airtight, this is for temp
if its airtight it will always be a constant temp inside no matter what the outside temp is
did you have any holes when you checked airtight? have you made sure your doors are airtight (the glass looking ones arent btw)
the other thing you may not have right is the light itself, it must be 2 full blocks above the planter box itself, it will then cover up to 9 squares centerd below it and it must have a constant power supply
you have to be carefull that all sides are facing the same way and that the corners all 'overlap' a full blocks worth
so if your walls are facing out and the roof is facing out you would not have a 'corner' that overlaps (you have to visualize the whole block not just the visible part) the inside corner of both would just 'touch' the other not overlap
Is this a new added mechanic? (Have not made a farm since early A8 experimental)
grow plots can be placed directly on the ground with one row of cement or w/e blocks around them for the walls
im guessing his temp is celsius from "had a constant temp of 22 then"
but then he says outside temps arent too far off from that, likely the temps are off just enough to prevent growth but not enough to kill the plants
if it where Fahrenheit it would instakill plants and we would have a different question i believe :P
here is an example of what im talking about (the red line is the 'visible' panel)

i always built the second way and have never had any trouble with airtight
the first used to not work (tested in v7 some time ago) it might now though
1. the airtight-diamonds under N were spread in the whole room, after i used armored doors, is that airtight then ? Because i use wooden growing plots, and under them is nothing but i thought the airtight-diamonds are enough.
Additionally is to say that i have a lot of windows and i planted them from outside, to be able to make pillars inside directly at the wall. i uploaded it here but if it doesn't work some people will beat me, i post the link in a sec

2. temperature is celsius, jep. actually its night and it says..the big number in the glasshouse is 21, the 2 small ones are 25 and 20 degree
I make the windows as the first image in your diagram. However, I hate the height difference, so I always add a "border" (thin 2x2 steel/wood block) negating the gap.
Excuse me while I go douse my fiery pants.
you have to mouse over each one and read the descriptions (like right click when they are selected)
So..when in the whole room the blue oxygen-diamonds appear, is it airtight then or not ?
i just know if you read the description for that choice of doors it says
airtight: false
and i also know if you use them the plants will not grow
you should only concern yourself with the airtight check NOT the o2 check
for all i know it will ALWAYS be full of o2 on a breathable planet
for growing on a breathable planet your ONLY concern is airtight for TEMPERATURE
it wont be airtight if you use doors that say not airtight - it really is that simple here
yes they are varied, some variations are airtight and some arent
you can tell which ones are which when you add them to your toolbar and right click with them selected
the same as when you choose which one your going to place, just mouse over them and read
