Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Ship Design
Part of the reason I love Empyrion so much is the freedom to create basically any ship you want. However, whenever I attempt to build something, I'm either not sure where to begin, or it ends up looking blocky and awful. Does anyone have any tips (other than practice)? I'm not interesting in making perfect, ultra-efficient combat-ready vessels at the moment - I just want to build something that doesn't look like a cube. :')

You really need to fiddle with the block rotations. It isn't easy getting the curve blocks to line up. Sometimes you even need to use the small wedges to keep a rounded edge going, from what I've seen when deconstructing things in game. (I spent 4 hours demolishing a 3000+ block base last night and have no idea why t.t)

Go into creative, spawn a cool looking blueprint and duplicate it. You can disassemble the original to see how people build stuff.

I usually use the scafold blocks to lay out the dimentions of a ship.
They are cheap and easy to remove, I find it an easy way to "draw" some lines, specially for a CV.
Might even add some trusters and other things to see how it all lines up.

Then I fill the hull bit by bit.

I also would say that building in space is the easiest as you can fly around freely.
You will have to whatch you O2 in survifal of corse.

I second what BlazeD wrote. Find designs you like load them into creative and deconstruct them to see how it was put together.
