Missing promethum

I started a new world after 8.0 and went through the tutorial motions but for the life of me could not find promethium. I eventually used the map command and the nearest deposit was over 2.5km over a mountain from the start point and even farther from the ship part, the tutorial sends you to. This kind of distance of a major is very problematic as getting the game going without it is impossible. If there is some way to get the seed off of an existing world let me know and I will post it. The best solution is likely to increase the resource saturation for each setting for planets as they are so much larger now.

I found on average 2 to 3 km in mountains is the norm use the motorcycle.

all you need are a handfull to make ammo for drill and Multitool
(Surface rocks in radiated biomes and in deep water)

for all other necessary things you can use Bio fuel as fuel

This is the main issue. Combind with the fact that bio fuel is a really poor HV and base fuel.

Can you cheat it? Power a fiber farm with solar power. Convert the fiber using a portable factory. Throw the biofuel in a fuel tank or generator and pull out as Promethuim cells. :p

Dosent mean the conversion rate isnt horible.

I still think the best solution is to increse the desity of resorce spawns. Rich is currently about 20 of each resorce on the starting planet give or take and this is what it was when the planets were much smaller. With as large as the planets are now it needs to be more like 50 of each resorce at the rich setting. I would say the rich setting is about where the normal density was before maybe a little less.

A trip to the moon usually sorts early promethium shortages. Just slap a few thrusters and vital components onto a cockpit, maybe give yourself an airtight platform to stand on, and take a trip.

I agree, though. The new "Rich" setting feels basically like the old Normal.

Gave up on telling people about search. No one wants to do for themselves when others will do for them. 7 Days to Die has a update coming they all ask about in a thread when right next to the button to start the thread is a thread labeled Alpha 17 clearly has all the info you are wanting. Ignorance is alive and doing well.

ya I was thinking warp fuel, got it confused with that other blue substance.
