Dedicated server issues
When I start the dedicated server on my own computer, the game works fine. When I exit and try to rejoin, via 120.0.0.1 it says connect to server failed, could not retrieve server information.

This worked fine in 7.6, why will it suddenly not work? I checked all my ports, tried to access this from a computer on the same LAN network, nothing. It will not work.

What happened? Is the dedicated server broken?

Did you start COOP or a REAL dedicated server?

use your ip4 address and port in direct connect option on empyrium menu (192.168.??.??:Port ?????) also check your yaml, because on update it re-writes the yaml.

Also steam updates messup things occasionally and double file post causing issues (add file to steam hkey (dword 32bit file name "offline" data 0000 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0) you should be good to go, failing that try validating both game and dedicated files, clear your steam and empryium save "cache"(aka delete). if no joy you could try reinstalling steam and or the entire game.

I had similar issues yesterday, but it was a new app conflicting with my port, so i changed the new apps port and no more problem.

Local coop, I don't need more than that.

I already checked all that. It should've worked fine and I can't reinstall the game. No new apps, I can't reconnect using either 127.0.0.1 OR via my other computer using the ip4. Verified the game, AND dedicated server files, shows up as nothing's wrong. I don't mess around with programming settings etc either.

You've now mentioned this twice (meaning it's unlikely a typo), and as stated by Krglok, it's incorrect. You should be using 127.0.0.1, NOT 120.0.0.1.

It's also possible that if not using a static IP, that your host machine has changed - so worth looking into if it actually has changed - and making it static if it's not.

Yeah tried 127 sorry. It's my autocorrect on the phone 😂

And I believe the ip is already static. I cannot reconnect either from my own computer or the one on lan

Alright, I verified files a 5th time and now via 127.0.0.1 it works, and I tried it again with the laptop. At first it didn't work but I tried the ipv6 ip and it worked. So, not ipv4 but ipv6 address.
