Heur.AdvML.B virus in empyrionlauncher.exe? Alpha8

been playing A8 over the past few days with no problem. this morning, i hit the launcher and norton ID's the launcher as a virus. is this a false positive or has anybody else seen this?

after quite a bit of research on the subject, i have come to the conclusion that it is a false positive. i am still doing some research on it and will update later.

from what i can find, the "Heur..." is not a virus. it's nortons algorithm for ID'ing threats. empyrionlauncher.exe is actually ID'd as a trojan. i would say there is a very high probability that it is indeed a false positive.

to my knowledge, no.

i have encountered no more problems with it since restoring and excluding it from future scans.

Its normal guys, Empyrion is an EA game, those companies likely have never even heard of Eleon Games Studio, so we get many anti virus programs throwing false positives for the game, but Eleon have never sent out an update ever with any spy ware or viruses. Not once.
Norton is not alone.
