... and no, they did make it so the other deposit would be far away from starting point but that's not recent.
I have them both in my inventory but there is an option to build one for my HV which I currently do not have built. If they don't work while in my cockpit than that might explain it.
The last game I played some months ago with the medium world had much more deposits. I think they made deposits more rare.
The planets are a lot bigger so the deposits/POIs are spread out further than they used to be.
Keep in mind that your faction standing with Talon and Zirax will decrease every 5 minutes you are in their territory with a vehicle, unless you are at least Friendly status. And you can't mine ore in any faction area unless you are at least friendly anyway - without taking a faction hit. If you plan on fighting the Zirax anyway it doesn't matter. And every Zirax you kill will raise your faction with the other two so go scout and mine in their area but be prepared for lots of small patrols.
I ran into the same problem of not finding enough ore in A9, so when I started started a new game in A10 I set the number of ore deposits to high but kept the amount per node to normal.
An SV makes a better initial scout as it flies over mountains and canyons - things that you have to go around in an HV. But an HV is better for the actual mining as it provides protection from predators and can mount a mining drill and gun turret.
And I had no idea about the minimap indicators. Thanks! That would be a big help.
If you don't need a lot of copper you could create some from crushed stone or mine copper bearing rocks on the surface. The crushed stone option is not very efficient (15 crushed stone to 1 copper ore which means 75 crushed stone for 1 copper ingot!) and copper bearing rocks are sometimes found in the same general area.
hell, with a bit of luck you might find the finish product you want in one of the cargo boxes. just plan to bring a rifle and bullet... i dont trust the newb rifle to take down drone...
If you are going to put the game on easy mode then just put in console commands and give yourself unlimited ore or something.
Errr...have you been following the discussion? Like one person mentioned mentioned putting it on easy mode. I was just asking since I hadn't seen any ore deposits aside from the starting ones. Are you sure you have the right thread?
Surprisingly, I had lots of ore deposits on my large world. Also surprised nobody mentioned to check this out because it displays just how many ore deposits are on the world and how many are found.
It was something like 1/11 copper 2/8 iron etc. saying I found 1 of 11 copper mines for example.
SO my large world does have plenty, it is just that I have found almost none of them so far.
Essentially forcing you to pick sides and fight for the others. I have found none so far in neutral territory. I still have a lot of the world left to explore though...but that's what I noticed.
but im looking at my current map where i discovered almost everything and at worst half the deposit are within alien territory, from that 50%, between half and 2/3 are near point of interest / structure. worst one was a polaris mining station with 6 security stations around it. that spot contain 2 deposit of iron, 2 of silicon and 2 of promethium...
otherwise, they're is still half the deposit within unclaim land with nothing dangerous nearby beside wildlife and that one annoying drone. this really perplexing, there should be a second deposit of each in an at leat 3km radius around your starting point... i dont know what to says beside harvest small rock for starter, then equip a super minimalist fighter/hover vehicule with a detector and scan the map for deposit. or else make friend with polaris and trade with them or make enemy with the zirax and take by force what you need... not that many other way to get ressource...
P.S.: yeah forgot about the ressource Info section on the map screen. that feature was added so long ago that i just kind of presume you were already using it...
