Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Why did they combine Predator with alien in Turret settings?
I know that battles will mostly be with other NPC factions like Zirax but am thinking combining Predator and Alien seems a bit stupid. As I'm flying along I'd want my turrets to shoot at alien POI's but not waste ammo on the predators. I don't see anyone else complaining about it though so please tell me what I'm not understanding. What am I missing?

the alien/predator is not related to pois. only the wild creatures. all pois are related to a faction
so the related point is NPC factions.
on what npc faction the turrents fire is related to your standings.

POIs are set to aln
Which is Alien faction.
Which is default hostile to players.
How we like it !

Predator something that will chase and eat the player, yum yum, thats you by the way !
Could be a dino, giant spider, or something of that nature.

The other factions have there names, Zirax, Polaris etc etc, and you can even add factions if you get into building scenarios.

Indeed; select turret in devices in p menu while in/on relevant vehicle/base, and on the RHS you can set the priorities for what it will and won't engage. If you group them up you can set the same settings for whole groups IIRC.

Aln and Predator should to be separate, I don't want my HV wasting all it's plasma and rockets on stupid alien critters or predators on the planet surface, I want that to target poi's and drones. The current setup with them in the same group is super annoying.

You approach an Aln POI and instead of your artillery firing at the turrets on it it's spazzing out and trying to shoot an overlord you passed 200m back and of course it can't hit it so it out of the real fight for a good while.

"Alien Predators" is not the same as "Aln" faction!
Set alien predators = shots all WILD alien creatures that want to EAT you.
Set NPC factions = shots "Aln" and other faction pois/npcs depending on your standing.

Will try it again, I don't post without trying things and it didn't work for me the way I wanted, I could be wrong though. Thx for the heads up!

It's as I thought and had tested earlier, "Aln" is not considered a faction but rather "Alien" so, either they need to treat "Aln" as a faction or separate Predator / Alien so we can properly set up targeting to not waste tons of ammo.

Without "Predator / Alien" on the turrets will not shoot at "Aln" bases or vessels.
