Very low mouse sensitivity
Is there a way I can increase mouse sensitivity beyond the options slider? This is the only game that has such low sensitivity issues.

You can adjust it within Windows and maybe the software supplied with your mouse (depending on brand of course)

A lot of us have complained, like you, this is the only game we have low mouse sensitivity in. Nothing's changed, not in Alpha 10 even.

Wait, are you saying that low mouse sensitivity is a common problem for many people in this game? Because my mouse settings is perfect(tly adjustable) without a 3rd party mouse software, guess I must be lucky then...

I keep my mouse sensitivity in the game set to maximum and it's still too low.

hmm. Well mine is at 50% , but then again, I have never touched that slider, so maybe it breaks when you adjust the slider? (Im not gonna try that though)

The slider works, I can go from high setting (which is low on my system) to really low. Slider is operative, problem is, the high setting is like low in ALL my other games, bar none.

Well maybe it's just an matter of taste then? I think I play with slightly lower sensitivity than the average guy, so maybe that's why I havent encountered said issue.

The whole way that mouse controls work seems off in this game. What I mean is when I am in my vehicle I can move my mouse one inch to the right and do a 360° turn with mouse set at about half way. However, get out of the vehicle and move my mouse one inch to the right i only get about 45° turn. That seems backwards, If anything it should be the other way around. If I set my mouse to the point where my character can turn at a sensible level, then the slightest movement of the mouse spins my ship like a centrifuge. So far I have not found a way to set these individually, If I missed it let me know.

From the testing that I've found (I use various trackball mice- Elocom and Logitech, which are basically an inverted version of optic mice) is that the games sensitivity "skips" input movements if the mouse/trackball is moved too fast and there is a preset "maximum" the game will acknowledge. Moving the trackball slowly with the slider at maximum does not yield the same results as turning the trackball fast with the slider at minimum. Moving the mouse "too fast" and there is a substantial loss in movement control. Adjusting DPI does not help while flying a ship, but greatly amplifies results when walking around. If I move the mouse slowly while the slider is at maximum, there seems to be an improvement in flying, but the performance is not the same while walking which results in slight movements being highly exaggerated- a simple turn of the mouse and the character spins wildly.

Interesting that is kind of the opposite of what I am getting with an optic mouse, for me, if I adjust the slider to max my character moves correctly but my ships and drone will will spin wild on light movements. Although I have not tested for a difference between fast or slow movements. I tend to always use high sensitive and small slow movements.

Update: just tried that, and yep trying to move one inch quickly, Hardly even registers. that needs work.

one of the advantages of using a trackball (finger operated NOT thumb operated-- those are dumb) is that you never run out of desk space when moving and you never have to relocate your mouse to turn multiple directions, you just keep moving your fingers in the direction you wish to travel... and when you want to turn in a hurry, you just flick your fingers that much faster... which in most games/cases this results in desired performance but even "too fast" like trying to spin a quarter on its end, i can make the mouse cursor move backwards in windows and some games the character turns in the opposite direction. This game seems to skip overly rapid movements completely and tops out at a preset amount of input data traffic from the mouse

That makes sense, most people can not use my mouse, I have had two three monitors for years and have learned over the years to use my mouse at extreme sensitivity. the area I need to move my mouse to get from the upper left side of the left screen to the lower right side of my right screen is probably a five by 1 and a half inch square on my mouse pad. Now I can move my mouse right to any word or element on any screen with no problem. Anyone else who tries will end up with the cursor floating around the edge of the screens.

What i mean by that is on my normal monitor even at that high sensitivity I can still move my mouse so slow and slight that I can go pixel by pixel. But once the game captures my mouse, it does not read the movements sometimes instead it jumps three to five pixels instead of one.

yeah, so many core values of this game need to be optimized

I got a great deal on a 15 ft mouse mat and a set of roller boots!

It's the only way to play.

I find Yaw is my main problem, my mouse is set to 1500 and I could take it up to 16000, the trouble with that is I can't get enough accuracy with pitch at those high settings and can't hit anything because the nose is - everywhere!

There's Pilot Mode which is horrible and sends your pitch off at odd angles (which is the only direction that's over sensitive), it really needs some way the user can manually cap the torque!

At the end of the day, using CPU prevents you placing enough thrusters to make it playable, when you load up with cargo it's 10 X as bad!

It's the reason they added the bloody RCS units in the first place!
