Solar Panels Not Charging Battery
Just came back to the game and put up 2 solar panels at the starter base and nothing is charging.

My consumption is lower than my output but the battery is at 0

It looks likes it is starting to charge. It will take a long time with only 2 panels. Turn more things off to make it charge faster.

It seems odd that i have literally 4 solar panels and they cannot keep up with 1 refrigerator and a few lights.

Everything has a passive consumption even if turned off. Also, 4 solar panels, especailly small ones is nothing. Don't even bother with small solar panels. The capacitors have quite a large capacity so it will take a long time to fill.

Batteries are not charging. If placing a capacitor down and it lights up, but then the light quickly goes out, they are not charging. I tested with a base build core, 10 large solar panels on concrete blocks and a capacitor. Then kept adding capacitors because why not. Tried placing capacitor first and then solar panels. Then reversed the process. Verified steam files on game and tried with a fresh save. This was all in survival mode. They recently broke. Oh well, guess I need to destroy more drones for fuel.

It seems to me that if you run anything with both batteries and a generator, it drains the batteries first. No matter what, the capacitor will never charge from the generator. Solar power isn't worth bothering with except in the very early game.

- Capacitors are spacey. What you should pay attention to is not the Battery level, but the remaining operation time. If it increases, then the battery is in fact charging.
- 2 solar panels amount to very little.
- Just to be safe, make sure the panels are at optimal placement, with 4 green boxes lit up, to ensure the best charge-up.

This is correct. Solar is used first, then generator power. So, if your Solar output is not more than your consumption, your batteries will never charge. And, 2 or even 4 small Solar panels isn't enough. Get at least a dozen Solar panels up and turn off things not in use and one should see batteries actually charging.

I used solar to power my base in the previous game round and it worked perfectly. Over 2 months I never had the Promethium generator start. I never built anything other than a small generator and t1 fuel tank.

I'm the same 15 solar panels flat on my roof and apart from the initial few days my generator has not been needed. I don't yet run a furnace or deconstructor but basically everything else. I control internal lighting and the T2 repair bay with sensors but other than that I rarely turn off anything.
