Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Auto Miners Disappearing
I know this may be a bug, and I will file the appropriate bug report, but is this happening to anyone else?

What happens:
- Place mine down, let it do it's thing. (say, on Akua)
- Go to another playfield for maybe a few minutes.. .talking 30 minutes max, here. (ie, Akua moon)
- Come back, and a few random (not all) auto miners are gone.. and when I approach the site, a notice in the upper right basically says "Auto miner gone, removing from playfield"... never to be seen again.

Clearly the game knows it is gone and flashes a signal... so it is as if the devs are aware of something? I will assume the notice is there more for other multiplayer games when people destroy other miners or something?

some stats:
- Multiplayer game, I host my own server
- only one friend of mine and I play on it; server is locked
- Started game before Alpha 5.0 update BUT it did it before the update (twice), and then did it today again.
- We have a total of about 30 miners, some on Akua, Some on Akua moon.
- We have not yet ventured to any other planet.

Specifically, with the new advent of the "Auto Mining Core" this is especially concerning; If we only have a limited number of cores, the game will quickly become no-joy as they start to up and vanish.

I've lost 4 so far - usually when I was landing to unload them. They show up on the map and then just as I get close I get the message that they are gone. I don't see any other references to this problem. Anyone?
drones normally cause this. Or you are hitting a limit for placed "small structures"?

I would subscribe to this if I still had drones on the planet; we wiped them clean out weeks ago before this issue (now, unless they are SUPPOSED to spawn even after this)... we just have not seen any in weeks. Though the small structures Issue I need to look into more. My server is set to max... :-/

And also, yes… it happens when you approach it and typically after you leave the playfield; will go in space and mine for 15 minutes, come back and a few are gone.

Admittedly, it adds to the realism – for all we know, natives or wild animals destroyed it.

I have seen this error message, but never sure because I never counted my autominers and other "placeables".
I only have 2 AUtominers (T2) currently on Akua ... and have been to Akua Moon/SPace several times ... never lost one.
Not sure how protected your Autominers are ... mine are not in the open, but rather well protected in a mineI dug ... so Drones or any critters don't have all too many chances to get to the miners
Nope - no active drones on the planet and I only have 2 or 3 out at a time
Running our own server as well. We have the disappearing auto miner issue. Occurring on multiple planets.

Lost 2 in the last week, this is still a thing. Multiplayer. This time I had towers nearby... 100% strength, 100% ammo in them and 100m away. No holes in the ground from somebody mining but node is also gone. I only get the message when I get close, say 250m from it. Not in registry and relog did not bring them back.

What I can't understand is I wrapped a building around my autominer. Nothing under it, just walls around and a ceiling above (not touching autominer) and power, generator, etc to protect it. Those go poof at the same time as the autominer - but I have a dozen setup like that and the rest don't vanish.

So my autominer AND base both go poof.

Sounds like your automatic structure removal has an extremely low time set. Change that, I can't remember the actual wording of the setting right now, not at my computer.
Two towers 100m away from the last building and miner that went poof were fine. And the node is gone
'Gutted' doesn't describe it.... spent ages & ages & AGES shuffling inventory, cannibalising other equipment, gathering mats to make a T3 autominer....
I was running a spreadsheet to work out what was in a power coil

Gone!

and where's all my copper and fuel that was in it???

I wouldn't mind so much if there was a signal to me to save me going ALL the way back to get the blasted thing.

So much for being a Galactic Exploration game - everything is against you all the time and you do a raid and get a poxy sandwich.
You're out-gunned, out-numbered and the AI knows EXACTLY where your generators are, but YOU have to search for their core.

You can't get the stuff to make the things you need to go and get the stuff because you need the things to get the stuff.

What's the point?

Come on guys! I only have so much recreational time. Why waste my time? Everything is just another waste of time, just more obstacles to stop you getting anywhere.
I don't want to spend my time down a flipping hole in the dark, I want to explore space.
"Empyrion Galactic Mole Game" is what it should be called.

Not happy.
Oh

Whenever the major version number bumps up....
  1. Blueprint all your stuff.
  2. start a brand new game
  3. type 'sbp' into console
  4. Place all your bases and ships down
  5. type 'itemmenu'
  6. Give yourself a weapon and some food
  7. disable 'sbp' mode
  8. disable 'itemmenu'
  9. Enjoy a fresh clean start and any new missions that got added

If you don't, you will not discover all the new game additions made by the release, new behaviour changes and more. Also many bugfixes don't apply to old maps/playfields.

If I blueprint my ships, will it also keep all the ores in the ships? Or will I have to collect everything again?
Nope, you gotta collect everything again. But if the game is fresh, the ores are pretty easy to collect.

Everyone has their own set of "anti-cheating" rules. Note, remove any plants when blueprinting!
