no Alien Thorn on akua?
I have scouted the whole world... I never found a single of these Alien thorns.

Are they supposed to spawn on a special place?

Please advise

Advise what? Also, you may need to go to a different planet, I found one on the desert planet (don't remember name).

They spawn in the Oceans of Akua, last I recall

Look for an area with lots of big underwater rocks. You will find all kinds of underwater stuff.

Well, I never found seaweeds, nor those alien thorns...
I did check underwater... for a long while, till I got bored by the swimming speed.
So for spoiled food, I kill animals and let the meet spoil.

But for alien thorn I have no solution.

Not even have sprouts to make them grow (if its ever possible)

As he said, by the rocks. Worst case just go to Omicron and they are everywhere, you can manage just fine without them until then if you're too impatient to go in the water.

gonna check again underwater as you said

almost 1 hour searching...
I walked almost all the ocean underwater...

found
2 thorn
4 seaweed (but I dont need those anyway)

I think some balancing should be done here ...or thats my seed?

I have found them in the deepest part of the largest lake on Akua. Maybe 10 or 15?

If you go to Oscutune, there is a TON. Hundreds on the bottom of the giant ocean.

yes, scouted the largest lake... and all the rocks I crossed
yet I may have missed some...

Walking beneath is sooo slow and boring...
I think an under water vessel would be much welcome

Agreed. There are some planets (can't remember offhand) that have it above ground. It looks different. Actually looks like a thorn.

Or you can skim the surface. Swim so you are just in the atmosphere and feather your jet pack. Look beneath the surface when you land. Return to the surface, Jet pack. Look. You can cover a lot of the lakes that way.

And check out all the lakes. Sometimes the smaller ones have as much as the larger ones.

And on Akua I have found alien thorn on the land as well. They are a small half-dome from memory. Like a tortoise shell.

I did absolutely check the whole map with my hover (which btw, is a pain to drive,...well not that much as the bike but yet)

I cant swim.. I can only walk beneath and jump pack doest help to jump out of water..can only jump half way to the surface.

well, I finally been able to manage my way down to the abandoned mine... got exactly the very very exact amount of cobalt I needed to get a SV
(I didnt want to build my personnal one as I had so MUCH trouble to get cobalt
(btw, I mined maybe 100 rocks (outer big rocks on the land) to try to find some cobalt - 0 - nul, nada - niet - found none)

so now I am finally in space...
but have no idea how to harverst cobalt from roids :-)

You must have a tool or weapon active. Empty your hands and you can swim easily.

Might be easier to get cobalt from the moon.

Mining asteroids you'll need an EVA boost to protect you from the cold. Alternatively, there are ships that allow you to send out a drone to mine. But that won't help you at the moment. Go moon.

Previously the procedural seed you used might have played a role in how abundant something like that is, depending upon how prevalent the water biome was and whether it included sufficient DEEP water. I suppose the seed might still affect that now, even with hand-crafted terrain. If you have nothing but shallow lakes on Akua, you won't find much of the water-borne materials.
