WHERE IS THE F***ING COBALT ???
Just mined a few hundred rocks and only 9 cobalt ore. Enough to build absolutely nothing.
As much as I like playing this game, I wish they would quit f***ing it up!

Cobalt is on asteroids/moons.

I backed the game up and have been playing version 6.7 instead.

7.0 is a bust, and maybe I'll change my mind with 8.0 when they add some more features that tie together what they added in 7.0 a little bit better.

Cobalt is a rare drop on your starter planet.

If you are on Akua, you should look a he Asteroid Belt instead, as there you can find cobalt asteroids that you can mine ;)

The progression in 7.0 is too linear. You had way more freedom to progress in a variety of ways. That's part of what makes a sandbox game good, but limiting progression, such as telling players you must go to X and do Y if you want Z is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.

It's only linear if you have no imagination.

Proteus, that is a good idea except that it requires a ship to get there and every ship I am looking at requires F***ING Cobalt.

I've been away from this game for a while and just came back to it. I was wondering about the lack of cobalt too. However, I think I like these changes. It adds more of a survival feel to the game and not all resources should be easy to get. I've gotten in the habit of hoarding cobalt on the starting planet and I did find enough to build a small ship.

You'll need to find a ship that does not have an oxygen station, or weapons more advanced than gatlings, and that uses the level 7 or 10 thrusters. Oxygen fill stations take cobalt now.. which I thought was kinda wierd, since cobalt is now only found in space (in the starter system anyway).

I've got this one on workshop designed to mine asteroids with player drone from inside, although I'm sure there are better and cheaper ones on there that don't take cobalt.

All ships I have found require cobalt. Even the initial BP ships.

I would suggest looking for some different ships.

You can also check POI's, kill drones, or mine more rocks.

TY grrantu. That is an idea. It is more in line with what Delroy said.

It is in some rocks, and POI's. Also by manipulating the factory blueprints and de assembling your base or POI's you can gain enough.
Also some SV's only need a little cobolt.

Best idea IMHO is, to craft a ship for yourself and not use blueprints. I always do it this way.
My own in system ship, for example (according to the infos in the P-menu) requires 7 cobalt-ingots. This would be craftable with access to just 5 cobalt ore (as 5 cobalt ore gives 10 cobalt ingots) ... so with 9 ore you would have enough for crafting
(giving you my blueprint would be useless however, as I already upgraded its outer shell to hardened steel ... so, if I would publish the blueprint of the ship in its current state, it would require lots of Sathium)

Bad design decisions are bad. Also a poor choice to focus on, fiddling with early phase difficulty. I see this kind of thing way too much in EA games. A lot of back-and-forth trial and error, and who pays the price for it? The players who bought the game.

We are all warned ahead of time that this is EARLY ACCESS.

And we all have to have a place to vent. These blogs help to find answers for the players and designers

And Proteus, first rock I came across gave me 10 Cobalt ore (20 ingots).

I will keep venting here. Many positive answers found.

To All Who Helped, Many Thanks!!!
