People like you ruin games for everybody else who doesn't want to play the game like you do. Waaaaaah. How dare somebody not play the game like me! You sound like a spoiled child. Most definitely a troll.
I couldn't have made progress at one point with the base I've been trying to perfect if I hadn't had access to the setposition and setrotation commands, among a few others. Now this twerp wants to deny ALL of us use of those commands because he has unresolved issues? Heck no!
As for the rest of you. Who would make fun, call names, or whatever. Instead of tearing me down, go build yourself up. Get off of this, go make your own post, and talk it up about how great console commands are. This is like.. A vote. Go create your own vote. I stand, firmly, by mine.
Tell me a single reason why an admin of a server shoulnd't have the power to mess with the console commands when trying to fix a bug or a server issue, or a creative player shouldn't be able to use the commands to transform a base from one kind of material to another kind of material so he can save the upgraded BP and use it in survival.
It's insane to me that you're actually trying to take away features from the game because you have zero self control and are a cheater through and through.
Why do you even bother with survival? Just play creative and do what you want.
Got a steel base? Want a hard wood floor. Instead of typing in a command, go out, cut down a tree, turn it into wood blocks. Lay those down. Boom, hardwood floor.
Don't ~itemmenu, get yourself 999 wood blocks, and lay down a hard wood floor.
I'm sorry... What rock did you crawl out of ,Caedus Zolar ? I bet you have a hard time of not touching yourself. Do you cut it off so that you can't? You Liberals never give up.. Go to hell..
Oh, his opinion isn't the same as everyone elses. He's being different! Burn him alive.
People like you, are the reason the dark ages happened. More worried about your little war, than you are the cleanliness of the streets.
Mean while, you douche bags are just like a pair of salty nuts. Well, some of you. Lighten up.
Straight up, the only reason I WOULD endorse console commands at this point, is cause people work. Can't grind at work, then come home and grind on a game. Only so many hours in a day.
Personally, if I use the console, it's my choice. If I make the game easy and spoil the fun, then it's on me. My decision. You have the same choice how you play. Maybe you should lobby for an additional command to disable the console?
Do you have any reason why console commands should be removed other than because you can't stop using them? I use them if not using them risks leaving my game at a dead end, or some game bug stops me exploring, or just for fun. For instance, occasionally in the first few days of the game I've placed my survival constructor down and it has vanished. Booom, no constructor, game over. Another time I've found a base on a lava planet that had it's lower levels engulfed in deadly heat. Or I've died and I can't get to my bag inside the 25 minutes. There are many other situations where the console has been vital, or just enhanced the game. Like using setrotation to rotate a building to exactly the direction I want.
And although it's not a reason to keep the console, there are very few games out there that don't have some kind of command system.
Sorry dude. I formally disagree with your idea.
The console commands were training wheels. Time to kick those off, quit using the crutches. At this point, with over a thousand hours of game time under my belt, and many of you able to say the same.. Play the game. Actually play it.
The reason I'm pushing for this now, is because they're finally getting around to adding Multiplayer. They'll be setting themselves up for failure, if they don't do something about console commands, before they start making MP better to use.
Personally. I'm sick of servers. Don't get me wrong. I've played on a few, that were a lot of fun. But not even most, are fun. Some servers you fall from orbit, and whoever set the server up, didn't even know how to set up a basic layout of weapons and tools so you can get started.
All right, you can stop now. You have been claiming that almost every other person in this thread is vilifying you because of your request, yet you are doing the exact same thing to others for their responses. It's time to end this froward attitude you have and face reality.
As a long-time server owner/operator with many games, I have a great deal of experience with this sort of thing. Commands exist for admins only. They are not meant for the average player to muck with the game experience, they are meant for admins to alter the server to their liking. Console commands have been in games like this for a long time and they are not going away.
This is where you are wrong, completely incorrect. Your experience is with one game and you suddenly want the entire experience to be altered? I'd guess that you don't even realize how fallacious this mindset is. I run a private Empyrion server and have no issues whatsoever with restraining myself from using console commands. Self-control, as it has been mentioned many times in the thread, is not a problem for me.
Initially, when I played the new 7+ update, I made a temp server and played with it. Then I wiped it and started from the beginning and haven't used a single command.
Bottom line is this: please stop telling the rest of us we are wrong just because you disagree with us. Fallacy, straw man.
