Nvidia GT 730 with 4GB DDR5 vram

I'm having seriously hard time getting this card to play Empyrion. Does anyone else have this card and if so what Driver do you use? After the Loading screen it freezes up my comp with win 10 64 Pro. I'm in the process of trying a 4th driver.

You got your answer. GT 730 is a ♥♥♥♥ card, and if you actually build PCs and put that piece of ♥♥♥♥ in thinking it's better than a 550ti, then you're a total and complete moron.

Anyone who builds PCs knows that anything lower than the Nvidia X50, or XX50 models, isn't meant for gaming.

And the 550ti crapping out on you is revenge, karma, for being stupid enough to replace it with a worse card. I used my Kitler psychic vrill swastika powers to burn your card up, telepathically.

I mean, I've heard a lot of really tarded things people do to PCs over the years, but that's the first I've ever heard of someone replacing a better GPU with a worse one, thinking it's better. That takes the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cake. You won the PC tard lotto.

My son -in law is an IT professional, used to work for IBM's VM division. Now runs a local hospital as the head of IT.

I'll get him to help me. He actually acts much nice than some of the jerk posters that responded.

I'm not as well versed in computers as he is since I did not start building comps before 2009 and those I have built are for personal usage. But I am 65 yrs old and my patience is not what it used to be.

I'll get it fixed.

By the way I've put 1000+ hours into Empyrion on that low level 550 Ti card. Was just hoping the 730 would do a better job. Now I know better.

Look, I can't give you a magical driver version that will work 100% for you. In a earlier post, I asked for your current driver version and the versions you have used to try the game out. You said your have tried 4 but no context on that. I wanted to help but can't do much with little info man.

And to that jerk crimson, this E7400 Dual Core with a HD 7550 also plays Empryion. No I don't know tons on every vid card. But I do know that the i7 2600K cpu is still a very good CPU. Out performs 3rd and 4th gen i7s. But then I don't have thousands of dollars to throw into a gaming rig being a blue collar retired worker. I make do with what I can afford.

I 1st let windows 10 update the driver and it installed the 5-17-2017 Nvidia driver for that 730. Then I tried the 7-1-2017 driver, after that I went bqack to a 11-27-2016 driver. Finally I tried the very latest 8-23-2017 driver.

Was hoping the 730 with 4 GB DDR5 would get me above 30FPS. But since it's not a True gaming card 4 GB does not seem to matter.

Guess I'll miss my Coop game tomorrow with a friend who posts vids here. Oh well such is life. Just don't need ppl like crimson though, arrogant a** that he is.

Before you get your hopes down, have you tried to fully delete your GPU drivers and then reinstall them with either the CD you got when you bought it or from the makers website?

The comp is having display issues, black screen. Moving the mouse cursor around the cursor changes so it's sensing what I can not see. This is with the 550 in it. Did not delete the 730 driver before I put the 550 back in. So I'm atm hosed.

Should make crimson jerk happy to know that.

LOL WUT!? Just put your 730 back in, you bonehead. Then uninstall the drivers. Put the 550ti in, and install the best legacy drivers for that GPU.

Look, at this point, I pity you. So I'll give you some pointers. It's good measure to *always* delete the old drivers when installing a new GPU. The newest drivers aren't always the *best* drivers for older GPUs. So you need to go on Nvidia's website, and do some research yourself to find the best drivers for that 550ti, if it hasn't croaked. Legacy GPUs sometimes need legacy drivers.

A couple months ago, I updated drivers, and my R9 390 was having display issues, artifacting on the screen, the mouse cursor turned into a rainbow colored block. It was like my PC just came out of the closet. Scrapped the new drivers, rolled the back to the one I had previously, problem solved.

i have a 2600k @ 4.6 watercooled o/c and a 680 on a revodrive 3x2 ssd, on max settings and runs like a champ, so new gpu and u'll be sweet

Lol, ok i run a GTX770 and have to have most settings lowered to run a decent 30fps capped, considering the GT730 isnt even a decent gaming card i hardly doubt you can run it with just a few setting lowered, dont treat us like idiots...

That was my Grandson's account. He uses my old E7400 Dual Core comp and we play Empyrion Coop when he comes to visit. Had to use it last night. Finally got the 550 Ti working again about 1AM CDST. Which is past this old man's bedtime any more.

Some posters try to help. Others just like to criticize or make fun of posters that come asking for help. Who would you rather interact with? The helpful or the "critic"?

I do seriously run the game quite good with a GT 730 no lie and not treating anybody like idiots. I run the game sometimes for at least 5 or 6 hours straight, to me satisfactory results! Until well im tired and need to take a break of it not because of lag or extremely bad fps issues. Want to see my settings I will be more then happy to post them. I understand the card is no high tech marvel. By any sense of the imagination. I feel it`s a huge upgrade over my previously very ancient Nvidia GTS 250 2 GB. I feel on my setup this is one of the few games I have tuned it to run quite decently.
