You can remove these blocks once you have placed the starter and it will float in position.
The new build will only fall to the ground it you turn the power on or enter the cockpit before fitting the thrusters / hover pads.
I like the challenge of building in survival and use a work platform SV to get to hard to reach places.
That's exactly what I was asking is I am trying to build a platform I figured I could build one out of wood or something like that and just build a few blocks up and then put the starter on top of it because trying to build it on the ground it just basically looks like a giant rectangle semi truck with rockets on the side and it looks ugly as all get-out LOL
The problem is when one side gets heavier than another and you get to watch your ship flip off of the platform. I've had that happen and then I was building my ship as it was canted at about 45 degrees. XD
Your best bet is to build in space as someone already suggested. This can be done in survival if you like but at least this way you can work on it from all angles. Building a small surface to orbit shuttle for parts and materials is actually pretty cheap and fuel efficient. Usually by the time you can build a CV you already have an SV anyway.
Best of luck!
How does one get into space without a small vessel anyways? Ind survival
Creating blueprint in creative is not a cheat.... it's no more a cheat than engineer or architect using Autocad to create a blueprint for something before he starts building it.
Alternative to that would be like architect telling each construction worker where to put each brick in a house, just making stuff up as construction progresses without any plan beyond what's in architects head. You wouldn't want to live in a house built that way, yet that's exactly what you are trying to do in this game.
How do I spawn a blueprint in to use if I do this? I know the blueprint menu. Do I just activate it and move on?
