"Please stop the ship" I'm going 0.3m/s -_-
This needs to change. Currently can't edit my creative ship because I can't stop it.

It should automatically stop, if it isnt try turning its power off and on a couple of times see if it ''wakes'' the ship up, it should stop, has an auto brake.

If that fails roll the ship and turn the ship the thrusters should stop it.

But yes I agree the game should allow you to exit a moving vessel.

Yes I've had to reload a save a few times because of I've become stuck in a moving ship that I've lost control of.

Bouncing off another ship repeatedly can do it, or attempting to use a HV in space.

I reloaded and promptly fit some place-holder thrusters.

In Creative only, too dangerous in Survival play.

Yea bailing midbattle is, OMG SPLAT !

But I mean if the ship is travelling really slow, like under 1m sec, it should let you out, HVs do the same, gotta hit the exit button 3 to 5 times to get out sometimes.

What I do in SVs is hold the roof thruster on so it sticks to terrain, jump out first go everytime then, but it is a bit of a fiddly system that could use a tune.

Good discussion and great suggestions. Yes, do it. I get tired of trying to get out of my vehicle and hearing...ding....ding...ding....ding, ding, ding...Stop the ship, stupid. :steamhappy:

LULZ, I just did this. Forgot to add forward thrusters
Jonofwrath Aug 15, 2017 @ 12:49am
When I experienced this I was building my first CV (2nd prototype) in Creative and had so far added RCS and 2 XL thrusters to my ship - no side thrusters at all! Feel this might belong in Facepalm lesson of the day :steamfacepalm:

It's a pretty regular issue in PVE as you lot have discussed too.

Agreed, they need to up the minimum jump-out speed to 1-5m/s.

You cant even imagine how many times Ive done that in servers !

LOL !

When that happens i just turn off the power, let it fall, make adjustment, try again.

Lol. I actually had my wife chase me down on our work platform ship(flat ship so we can get to places we can't reach with drone) and break the thrusters. I was sitting in a passenger seat accessing one of the turrets, and forgot that i had removed the forward thrusters to move them somewhere else. Turned the power on, next thing I know I'm floating off our repair platform. "Hun? Can you come get me?"

Im glad you cant exit a moving vessel, imagine doing 90/ms in space and accidently exit the ship......good bye ship

I've done several dutchman walks in space just because the game decided to move my ship.......

I think everyone would agree that not letting you out where you're going fast is a good idea - it's the sub 5m/s end of the spectrum which is problematic.

It was possible before 6.0 to exit ships that were slower than 4m/s.
They should bring it back.
