Ship stuck in the air?
So I was flying around the planet, and I disconnected. When I logged back in my shop is now stuck in the air, quite a ways up, completely unreachable as far as I can tell. What can I do? I don't have the resources to build another ship, there are no tall structures nearby, and my jetpack doesn't even come close.

Last time I disconnected during flight I was outside of the atmosphere, and died and lost my ship.

After a few hours it comes down automatically

Couple options: 1) Use your filler mode on your drill to build up a giant hill. 2) Try to get close enough to access it with your drone and shut off the power. 3) Open up console, use godmode, go get it.

Most honest players dont want to use the cheat tools to achieve their results, however in certain circumstances when game mechanics kick you in the arse when your down, it is a necessary evil to use them to achieve things which are otherwise impossible, then turn them off when all is resolved.

As Foy said, open the console, use godmode, this enables you to FLY without the jump pack fly upto your ship, enter it, turn godmode off then continue as normal

There is a bug with ships not coming down. You should be able to use the Registry to simply shut down their thrusters - or the ship entirely - which you can do just fine. However, despite being without thrust / completely powered-down, the ship will still just hang there for a indeterminate amount of time.

It used to be that just looking at the ship, while not moving, would see it drop sooner, but that's not always an option.

When this has happened to me - in Single Player - I just Godmode up to it. As this game still has bugs and quirks - which is fine, it's early access - I've no qualms using Godmode to work around them. Not possible on an MP server though...but a friendly Admin could doubtless help you. Failing that, just wait, ships will drop eventually.

i am speaking for Alpha 7.3.1: Patch.. when you playing game type " key open console and write godmode on and exit with esc key. If you want to close godmode type godemod of. I am using godemode for game mistakes

Man this topic is half year old.

The best solution both SP and MP is having cheap SV ready in factory for such situations

Using godmode in SP is cheating

In order of statements... correct, correct, it depends.

When a bug has the potential to spoil the game, using the console can help correct it. If you were in the same situation Darkayen, then it would be cheating for you to use godmode to sort it out. For others, it's an acceptable solution.

But hopefully the devs tidy up this issue soon so that it isn't necessary. :)

This happened to me three times in the last two days...and just now. toggling power did no good. I left the game amd will try again on reload.

Number 2 is absolute rubbish. once an SV is in the air like that there is nothing you can do to bring it down. Turning it off just leaves an SV that is off floating in the air. The only why I have dealt with this is to have another ship to go up and get it. Not having the resources for a ship, you would have to cheat one in, or do the godmode thing.

To enter godmode press ' or check the key for the console command then literally type godmode.
Btw yeah that's not "hard" to solve but this is probably caused for efficiency, it seems to just disable gravity to save computation. Could use an event for check gravity back when the ship turns off, either when powers out or if you turn it off with the drone.
