As Foy said, open the console, use godmode, this enables you to FLY without the jump pack fly upto your ship, enter it, turn godmode off then continue as normal
It used to be that just looking at the ship, while not moving, would see it drop sooner, but that's not always an option.
When this has happened to me - in Single Player - I just Godmode up to it. As this game still has bugs and quirks - which is fine, it's early access - I've no qualms using Godmode to work around them. Not possible on an MP server though...but a friendly Admin could doubtless help you. Failing that, just wait, ships will drop eventually.
Scoob.

The best solution both SP and MP is having cheap SV ready in factory for such situations
Using godmode in SP is cheating
When a bug has the potential to spoil the game, using the console can help correct it. If you were in the same situation Darkayen, then it would be cheating for you to use godmode to sort it out. For others, it's an acceptable solution.
But hopefully the devs tidy up this issue soon so that it isn't necessary. :)
Btw yeah that's not "hard" to solve but this is probably caused for efficiency, it seems to just disable gravity to save computation. Could use an event for check gravity back when the ship turns off, either when powers out or if you turn it off with the drone.
Bro...this is a 3 year old post...but yeah
lol :)
A belated good deed
