Changing the game mode and then not changing it back before you leave the game, change playfields, or save will result in corrupting the planet/moon terrain.
Creative mode uses a set seed, not the seed you choose for survival. When the game saves it will now have both seeds laid on top of one another.
If you already made this mistake then it's time to either start a new game to resolve the issue, or you have to delete the affected playfields and let them reload. You'll lose anything on the playfields in the process.
You won't see the damage that's been done until you leave the game and come back or change playfields and go back.
