im the SupremeGeneral of - Rats in the Hats - Darkfall 1, Darkfall UW and now Darkfall New Dawn.. :-) we still playing... take a look @ https://darkfallnewdawn.com/
Yes, i think at the moment the PVEPvP players have too many PVE zones. Akua, Omicron, both moons for these and the space around.
Coward guys just need one successful resource farming trip into PVP space and can stay the rest of their live in PVE space, thats certainly not good.
It is on the other hand good, and that is the ARK main problem, that new and PVE players have a safe place to built bases and store items. But to set Akua PVE would be sufficient, not also the space and the moon.
Would make multiplayer much more interesting and still garantue survival of noobs and PVE guys.
I believe there is a german server using a similar mostly-pvp setup.
Also the servers I join on most of the people play in groups and have already big bases where I just begin with a pistol and nothing more.. You could not blame me for stayin in PVE thought eventually I should go to a PVP area but then I fall back to the beginning of my text here :P
Some jackass faction is just blocking the PentOixid Asteroid with a ring of space fortresses and charge fee from players who want to get the Pentaoixid.
So this is just the perfect opportunity to rest the own strategic and tactical skills. My warfleet will challenge these guys and as i am the carebear of doom :P i doubt that they can compete with my economic output to build new ships / guns / ammo.
Not one of these loser kids can and not 10 of them. 10 multiplied by zero is still zero, right ?
Here they have no chance to attack my economic base when i send wave after wave against their space stations.
In ARK this would be classical the end of game for a single player or small faction.
I've recently put one back up with a very affordable but great hardware investment that can run the game well. It is called Fiducious PVP and is located in west TX. It is full PVP except for the starting zones which are one way only. It is no factory bp spawning, saving only, Terrans versus Martians in a generated galaxy. It has custom CPU values that need testing and W/V on. It is intended for fairplay (Fiduciary) PVP with unique and ingenious custom on the spot builds (no bp spawning). It makes the gameplay interesting. Currently nobody has joined, so it is fresh grounds for all. You may join one side or the other (Terrans vs Martians) which is a Temperate planet and Desert/Barren planet accordingly. It is semi-RP with a desire for builders to achieve a different building theme for both terran and martian sides. Since there is no active player base, it essentially is ready for the first pioneers to settle.
It is also accepted for players who like PVE to stay on the first world and roleplay as the headquarters of the chosen side, arming and helping newcomers to the battlefield.
I can design cool things, but it is much harder to get people to play, haha.
