How to build a base?

Ok guys. I follwoed the guides instructions. I have the base starting block. I placed it down. I also have the 20 Steel Block S things. I canot place them down AT ALL. This is beginning to get frustration.....please help. I put down the large constructor thing directly beside the Base block and i cant mvoe it now either -.-.

P.S. I did right click to steel block S. It told me to choose a shape, and I did, and nothing happened -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.,-.-.-.-.-.-.-

You cant use the Steel Block S (S = Small) to build a base you need to use the large blocks or just concrete or wood blocks

The Steel Blocks S & HardenedSteel S are only for SV's & HV's.

if you hit F2 I think it is bring up the factory can put your stuff in there and will make a Prefab for you just need to wait till its done. Then open it again click on the done one and then place it.

Once they did what Apha 4 they changed it so the HV and SV are not the same as the CV and BA blocks. HV and SV are 2 metal plates and CV and BA are 10 metal plates. It just makes more sence not going to place huge blocks for a HV,SV same with the CV and BA not going to put small blocks them. in a normal world you could I guess just take a lot more to build a wall.

So now I need TEN Steel plates for a single base block?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

And someone PLEASE tell me how to move my Large constructor! It is in the way!!!

or just make some concrete blocks. Collect some crushed stone to make it.

Get the multitool equipped then right click & in the radial menu select Disassemble then shoot the large constructor with the multitool & it should go into your inventory.

With the drill, you can collect tons of crushed stone, and fast. With it you can make hundreds of cement blocks. Getting a couple hundred cement blocks isn't a huge deal. And with them you can lay down your foundation and start putting up walls etc.

If you want to make your first base out of steel, you will have to go drilling for iron. Same thing as rocks/cement, except you can't just collect iron from anywhere. You have to go to a iron deposit. But my point: the raw materials go a long way. Just a mining trip or two and you can build your base.

Just go mining for iron or magnesium because those are what you'll need at the beginning. That mining will inevitably also get you crushed stone for concrete as a byproduct. Saves time by getting both from the same activity.
