Game crashes when activating 1st cutscene

I wanted to show my favorite game to my friends only to discover it crashes immediately upon activating the first cutscene with Coach Oleander. I even tried getting the game through the Microsoft store in hopes that it would be functional there, but it does the exact same thing. Is this a me issue or is something wrong with the game itself?

I'm pretty sure it's a problem with your PC. The game has opened fine for me for the past 8 months of my life.

I had this same problem, I'm not exactly sure what fixed it but I messed around with compatibility mode and disabled the geforce experience overlay and that seemed to fix it, I think it's non-steam overlays that cause the crashing but I'm not sure
