In another thread someone said they're stored only on the cloud.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YourSteamID\382900\local and C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YourSteamID\382900\remot

would be the root but I've deleted the folder but the saves I currently have remain there. I'm trying to get my iOS version of FF6 save files to play on the computer but no luck as of yet. =[
Crono 2015 年 12 月 17 日 下午 3:35
Why would they hide it?
Ragnawind 2015 年 12 月 17 日 下午 3:35
C:/Program Files (x86)/steam/userdata/{userid}/382900/local

The save data is stored as the file titled data in that folder. There is no proper save data, since this is a direct port of the Android version, as can be seen by the main.obb file in the game's directory that contains the game's actual data.

So does that mean it's like some Vita games where the save file is part of the executable?

Your save file from iOS likely won't work, since this is an Android port, not an iOS port. Even then, they probably still wouldn't work, if they were from the Android version, since the game has been reprogrammed at least somewhat for PC compatibility.

It isn't really part of the executable, it is just stored in a similar way as Android. The Steam folder is probably being used as the Android root directory and save data for mobile games are normally stored differently than native PC games

Hopefully it's still possible to edit the save data with a hex editor.

If the Android version save file could be edited, it should be possible. I checked with HxD and it seems the very top says Final Fantasy VI Mobile, a few lines down shows Terra, Biggs, and Wedge, and most of the rest of the file have nothing in them at all. It is a bunch of "00"s with a very few random parts with some text in them, which is only maybe 5-6 times showing anything other than "00" through the whole file. This is in a save file up to right after you go to the mine solo as Terra when leaving Narshe through the mines after Ynir.

Ahh I see. Thanks Ragnawind! I guess i'll just have to replay from scratch ^_^

Why would anyone go to the trouble of editing save files, when you can just edit PC games in real time with address editing programs anyway?

I named Locke, Serge in my file so as soon as I can save it, I will run it through HxD and search for 53 65 72 67 65 (Serge).

On that note, love to see Chrono Cross on Steam too.

Where exactly is the real save files? I want to backup every save for every part of the game.
Ragnawind 2015 年 12 月 18 日 上午 12:52
The file mentioned IS the real save file. That is just how they were stored on Android, which is what this port is. It is basically an emulated Android version and still uses its save file system, which stores them in that data file in the directory listed. There are no separate save files.
Monterossa 2015 年 12 月 18 日 上午 12:56
yeah, I just figured out that I have to backup both folder, "local" and "remote".

Hi @ All !

i found the solution to bring my Android saves to PC right now.
Made it with hints from other posts on the internet and this community. So i want to share it with you. Thank You all.

Final Fantasy VI on PC
------------------------------------
The Savegames on PC are stored in the Steam users directory.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YourSteamID\382900\local
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YourSteamID\382900\remote

The save files are named only "data" withous extension.

If you open them with "Notepad++" you will notice theyre beginning with "Final Fantasy VI Mobile"
So this is the Android Port Emulated on PC . It can be recognized on the "obb" File in the install directory too.

Final Fantasy VI on Android
------------------------------------------
The savegames are located on the internal partition NOT the external SDCard.
They are hidden by default and located in root / under

/Data/Data/com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFVI

The save files here are named "filesRockDat0.sav"

OK, How Do we get the savegames from Android on PC ?

- You need a rooted Androd Device and a root Explorer. Else you wont see the files or even the whole directory. Use ES-FileExplorer for example with activated Root Explorer Option. How to root your specific device and so on youll find in the internet.

- Make a Backup of the "data" savegame files in the Steam folders and move them away.
- Copy the "filesRockDat0.sav" files from the Android Data directory onto your PC and into the
Steam folders mentoined above.
- Rename them from "filesRockDat0.sav" in "data" without extension.

Well, thats it!
Start Final Fantasy VI and load your savegames ^^

Unfortunately it seems you wont get achievements afterwards for things you already completed, Kupo.

Good Luck :steamhappy:
