but wasn't the princess of tycoon called reina not lenna? and is faris still salsa?

Her original name is レナ (rena), but official translation is Lenna.

Reina was her name in the PSx version as far as I remember but yeah... Lenna would be it.

Faris' real name is Sarisa. Salsa was just a mistranslation in some version, the fan translation one on the SNES IIRC.

hmm interesting i guess i've just played the psx version then not sure if the playstation original version is the on on psp so i honestly thought it was reina in original. oh well learn something new today thanks.

The "Salsa" translation was in the PSX Anthology release, along with "Reina"

The PSX version was a rough translation, we don't know who did the initial translation, but some have believed it to be Ted Woolsey.

Ted Woolsey was not involved; the last Square game he worked on was Chrono Trigger.

The only FF games Woolsey worked on were Mystic Quest, VI and Legend III (if you count that as an FF game).

The way Japanese would pronounce Rena makes Lenna, that's all. It's like Light and Raito, two different spelling for the same name.
