Any other games like this?
I think i saw a gif on imgur that lead to the youtube vid of this game, and ever since been keeping an eye on this game...

And in all my time, i don't thin of a game ustalizing "The ground is lava" mechanic from things we would do as a kid.

While this game is not unique per se, it IS to be put in a console/pc game this way, and even more so in a more literal sense that the ground IS lava.

When i saw it, i was estatic, and it has not stopped, but my low end crash happy laptop can't run this, so all i can do is hope some youtube vids are made to fill a fraction of the void this game has created.

Can't wait for the day i get be better computer and can play games like this or what ever else that might have been released since then...

But yeah, i was wondering if anyone know of any other games like this, where touching the ground is bad...

Not necessarily 100% "floor is lava", but I guess games like Mirror's Edge and possibly Dying Light come to mind in terms of purely movement mechanics.

I don't think you're gonna find many games with the "floor is lava" theme, but there are a few parkour games around, like Mirror's Edge (and Catalyst) or Dying Light. Sadly, there isn't a lot of those games either, but at least they're all high quality.
You can also find some indie games with FPP parkour as well, but I haven't looked too much into that.

Maybe not exactly what OP wants, but with parkour: Downward, Seum, Die Young, Cluster Truck

Hover is another good one.

...what, never heard of it? It was hasteilly retitled after someone told the creator "Revolution: Revolt of Gamers" was a title found revolting by my most gamers, lol

Is Hover really a "parkour game" in the style of Hot Lava?

Not really, it's open world instead of level based, and 3rd person. It is all about that parkour though.

Some of Hot Lava's mechanics were lifted from Counter Strike Source surf maps, you could join a surf server for a similar experience.

There was a parkour game mode on GMod that was very similar, but I can't remember what it was called.

Cluster Truck
Kreedz Climbing! It's completely free, on steam, and you'll find the mechanics very familiar.

"SEUM: Speedrunners from hell", but it's much faster and more old-school than Hot Lava. https://store.steampowered.com/app/457210/SEUM_Speedrunners_from_Hell/
