OPen your map and select a layer filter for say TomatoPotentialYiled and it will show zones where tomato grow best white is the hot spot red is the growable but not the best clear is not really Conditioned for it. So you have to go buy the 3l's Location Location Location

Also don't plant things to densly remove Other plants/Weeds by digging them upand replacing the soil back this will ensure no overcrowding. Otherwise the plants will shock themselves jsut like IRL

does grass count towards overcrowding?
Shane Mar 15, 2018 @ 3:38pm
it must do because it also dies (but dont forget one of them is a lighter shade of green, cant remember its name bushgrass or something)

i have noticed that corn potential concists mostly of tilled land owned by someone so there must be something i can do to get them to grow, for now i managed to plant some in an area where it says it has potential but isn't occupied (mostly)

they still didn't grow even though they have tons of space, is fertilizer a requirment?
Shane Mar 15, 2018 @ 4:18pm
That depends on the soil, use soil sampler tool to check a tiles nutrients, etc..

there is also a thread on here when i asked what was the optimal ratings for each plant and a couple of folks posted some usefull information about that in their responses. I also hear from time2time fertilizers dont work, but then others claim that they do but take upto ten mintutes to take effect.

In addition to that i have read during my time here that the overcrowd feature/status when reading tiles with the soil sampler dont give out correct readings in effect i believe it was being claimed that it will still claim the plant is overcrowed when its not.

As far as farming actually goes i have done very little of it, since most of the time in singleplayer its not as important to just one person,. so at this stage thats about all the real advice i have and its only based of memory of reading others on here, sry.

im doing mixed seed farming, i plant in a checker patern and in the gaps i plant other crops, dont take any notice of the plant saying it needs room, it is buggy atm and i lose 10 to 20 % of crops any way, some time i dont lose any, some time nothing seams to grow then all of a suddun there ripe .. 1 thing i do when plants die is replace them with some thing diffrent untill you finde the right crop for that block, and it dose pay to use the fertiliser or at least it seams to work .. the map window can tell you where the best place to grow is also but even then plants like there special block best thing is to plant big and when some die put some other plant in that spot .

Nope, since the game didn't tell me i assumed that it didn't take that long since in most games it doesn't. At this point i think the game should have a tutorial for this and other mechanics because it doesn't make itself clear as well as tell you if your crop will grow or not considering that having to wait an entire day to find out is too much. (PS: I'll check on the crops later to see wich grew and wich didn't)

Easy way it just sow plant in same places where you harvest them in the wild.
Second easy way it to use potential map layers (with showing in game).
More hard conditions – more space they are need around them.
But you will need to running between various scattered fields.

Unless we got melioration from 0.6x working back, to make artificial conditions.

When you say your crops aren't growing do you mean they are all dying or they are just simply staying as seeds? Crops take very long to grow in Eco and are more of a long term solution rather than instant food. Many crops take up to 24 hours to grow so it's encouraged to plant way ahead of time while sticking to foraging while the crops grow. If you plant, plant large fields in ideal zones for what you are trying to grow otherwise the wait won't be worth it, plus it factors in any plants that might not make it. One or two dead plants isn't such a big deal when you planted 100.

second

They grow in 20 hours now, almost everyone.

But can die in very harsh conditions on early state.
