Is Virtual Desktop worth getting for Oculus?
How is it?

Its absolutely worth getting, if only for the ability to watch Youtube/Netflix. I find its a *lot* better than the Steam Theatre mode.

Definitely usable with the only downside being that it reminds you how much you want much higher resolution VR to become available.

I have it and I'm still on the fence about it. Still have like 1 hour and 30 mins to decided if I wanna get a refund.

I ended up getting it, playing games like Rocket League on a movie theatre sized screen seemed pretty cool. I haven't tried to much with it yet tho.

I've been using it in beta for most of the last year. It's invaluable. Nothing better than watching neflix on a giant screen. Works far better for video than Oculus' Video app.

I'd consider it to be a mandatory application for everyone owning a Rift.

@Porter: strange, what is your problem with it?

Currently I'm playing Hyper Light Drifters with this!
And on the second screen on the right I can see Discord. It's awesome

Nothing now, just had some initial problems figuring it out. Otherwise it's a keeper and well worth the price for what it does.

Mind elaborating? I am currently on the fence whethter this is worth 15€ if SteamVR comes witha similar feature by default.

Complete lack of customisation/configuration with the Steam version (at least that I've found), also I find Virtual Desktop to be more responsive.

Then theres the 360 photo and video support which you don't get with Steam Theatre.

Totally agree with you.

Ah, ok, that can happen, it is still a new technology. ^^

It's a day one purchase for anyone getting a VR headset.
