It's a reference to the SAW movies. Everytime a Disciple ambushes someone in the movies you can hear a lion's roar.

It's definitely not a lion's roar (you've seen too many movies, it's never a lion in the movies that you hear).
It sounds more like a mix between an actual boar and a tiger, it's too low and growly for a boar, but not deep enough for a tiger. Or maybe it's a jaguar?

Its because the saw movies have this thing that happens whenever a person wearing an animal mask attacks somebody it makes an animal sound, even though they have zero way of doing that, and zero reason of doing it.
