How many tokens does Hex:Undying has?
So my teammates and I cleansed 4 Hex totems in one match.
we all thought the killer is running a full hex build.
well apparently not.. he only ran Ruin and Undying.

its not written in Undying description how many tokens or how to acquire it tho

It doesn't have any tokens. All you need to know is that there are 5 totems on the map and while Undying is active, cleansing another Hex totem causes that Hex to move to any dull totem available.

Since he had Ruin + Undying combo, it means you either cleansed Ruin 4 times or you cleansed Ruin 3 times and then got rid of Undying.

Hex: Undying
When another Hex Totem is cleansed, that Hex transfers to an available Dull Totem, losing any Tokens in the process.

The tokens refer to other Hex perks. So if you are running Undying alongside something like Devour Hope and that gets cleansed, it moves to a dull totem and the tokens are reset. So you need to start hooking people again to build it up.

It's 5.

There are 5 totems basically.

The description refers to perks that have tokens, such as huntresses lullaby. If the killer were to get 3 tokens in lullaby and then you cleansed lullaby, lullaby would still be active as it transfers to a new totem, but the count would go back to 0.

wait .. that would mean since the killer bring Ruin and Undying,
it would be 1 + 1 (+1 undying token) isn't it? but we cleansed 4 ..

or is it 1 (+1 undying saves ruin) + 1 (+1 undying moves itself) ?

No, if you have 3 Devour Hope tokens and then it gets cleansed the totem will transfer to a dull totem. Devour Hope will reset to 0 tokens since it got cleansed. You'll then have to start hooking people again (be at minimum of 24 meters away during an unhook) for more Devour Hope tokens.

You cleansed 4 totems meaning there was just 1 more left on the map.

Undying doesn't have any tokens, it simply resets the tokens of whatever perk it saves. I just used Devour Hope as an example. Undying will always save a Hex perk, other than itself, if there is a dull totem.
