Is Vecna powerful against good/very professional players?
I've watched many youtube videos about Vecna and all of the youtubers said that Vecna is strong but not strong enough to face good players. They said that you wouldn't do much against them as Vecna. I want to buy him but if he isn't good against good players, then maybe not. The reason why I'm asking you guys this is that I have 590 hours in DBD and I face excessively good survivors lately, therefore I almost always lose. What am I doing in high MMR with 590 hours? Sure, I've won many times but I can't learn while going against very good players. I want difficult matches but not that far difficult! Thanks for reading!! :ds_cat: (I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM. JUST TELL ME IF HE'S GOOD OR NOT.)

I find him fun. I'm pretty good with him and 3k-4k most of the time and I'm in higher MMR lobbies. If you want him I'd just go for it. At the end of the day nobody wins every single game with any killer so youll win and lose some to begin with.

Against really good survivors? Somewhere around Wesker level probably.
You will get a few downs, some hooks maybe (bgp flashbang/pallet saves are pretty common), but no free hits from skulls for sure and mage hand hits will be limited too if they predrop and keep distance. Also despite having "fly", shiftW is really strong against Vecna same as for all m1 killers, which affects chase time.
If you make great reads and every cast ends in a hit you'll have a chance for 3-4k, but overall gen efficient + good in chase team should have no problems against him.
But he is fun for sure, so if you like gameplay go for it.

Yes he is still busted especially against solos
Saronite Jun 26, 2024 @ 7:44pm
for me i'd place him right under ghostface, his kit is somewhat weak aside from mage hand.

Vecna is strong enough to dispatch most survivors, in the right hands.

Yes but you need to have a high degree of game knowledge to play him well, which is why a lot of people rate him low. He was stupidly easy to play when he released.

Flight of the Damned: Survivors have long animations when they're dropping a pallet, vaulting a window, or unhooking a survivor, giving you an easy hit. If they're not in an animation they need to crouch to avoid the hit, meaning you close distance. If a survivor is at an elevation, like say Dead Dog Saloon, you can aim your ghosts to go through the floor, making the survivor unable to counter the hit.

Mage Hand: Another way you can exploit animations. A lot of Vecnas use Mage Hand to stop a survivor from dropping the pallet when the play is to let them drop it, and then immediately pick it back up. That survivor will have just finished the drop pallet animation, and you'll be able to hit them. If the survivor does not leave the loop and you time it correctly, you get a down.

Fly: You're fast as ♥♥♥♥ and able to fly through windows and dropped pallets. If you have Friends til the End then you are constantly applying map pressure.

Dispelling Sphere is pretty situational, but not bad.

With all due respect to the above posters, I don't know how they could rate him lower than A tier. Sure he's not Nurse or Blight, but those two killers feel horrible to play for 99% of the playerbase. However, we have to be somewhat serious. Like, Ghostface's power doesn't work correctly like half the time lmao. Come on now guys.

I don't think no one would spend 117 money for a killer, just to play with bots.

I know everything about Vecna, including what survivors can get from chests etc. but thanks anyway. Also, I hope you're right. I agree that he's A tier but looking at the matches I'm getting... it's hard to tell. My matches are full of toxic pro SWFs and I can't do anything about it. I have 590 hours and they have 10k. How fair is that, right?
vecna has enough counterplay that he's not going to be viewed as a very strong killer among very good survivors. and when most of his abilities have counterplay it can reduce him to basically playing against an m1 killer. it's why good teams don't fear skull merchant because once you know how to play against her power she's just an m1 killer. and it's kind of like that against most killers even onryo - if your team knows how to turn off tvs she basically just becomes an m1 killer with some stealth features.

it's why nurse, blight, spirit, wesker are so top tier because their abilities can overcome a lot of the counterplay when played correctly.

Vecna is god mode.

Youtubers say he's weak againsg good survivors. You guys say he's strong against good survivors. I'm puzzled... :headcrab:

tldr: his power can overwhelm survivors, but good survivors can counter everthing easily.

The problem with Vecna is, that he has the potential to be powerfull, but has easy counters:
-The skeletons can hurt survivors, but have a long charging time and can be dodged by only crouching.
-his bubble detects survivors, but is slow and has no real benefits in chases.
-his flight can catch survivors of guard by flying over windows and pallets, but you cant m1 while using it and it has pretty long end-lag.
-the only usefull spell in chases is mage hand. it lifts palltes up again and/or prevent pallets from beeing dropped.

I would say that yes; it has everything on his kit to be a menace but at the same time it doesnt excel in anything in particular. Wesker is better in my opinion.

Nurse, Blight, Spirit and Billy are good against good survivors, depending on the map.

No new killer is allowed to reach their level due to the survivor lobby.
