[SOLVED] Sudden Lag issue

Hello everyone,

I'm playing DbD on my Asus GTX960 i7 the last 2 years and since 2 days it started lagging hardcore, I don't understand what can cause this issue because I changed absolutely nothing on my laptop. It became very unplayable and I don't know what can cause this and how I can solve this.
Any advice or same experience ?

it may need a clean out think of it like spring cleaning and update it may help, it helped me some when i had a gaming asus laptop but the hard drive got to full after awhile and i had to get a gaming desktop HP Victus with much more room in the hard drive from conn's last xmas

Yes, I tried to update everything but nothing helped :(
It really is a problem to play, I can't hit any survivors on the timing I choose and I can't do the skill-checks as a survivor. My laptop just suddenly downgraded. And I bought Alan Wake today. The CLOWN I am.

you sound like you are at the point of needing a new gaming pc honey that was my problem 2 years ago when i was renting my laptop from Rent-A-Center i had to beg my dad to get me a new pc for xmas do you have playstation or xbox you could play dbd there it would be cheaper then a new pc but it's up to you

Yes, I already planned it for april :)
But it's weird that I come to this situation so suddenly. Tried other games and everything works fine, it seems to be only with DBD

it's a big cross-play world wide game and there is some lag in game but it should not be unplayable

did you bother to actually check your connection? maybe you should start there first then determine if its actually the game your playing.

Might also be you're getting paired with people in other regions I'm starting to feel like the game has less people playing and I was used to not wait for queues as killer even when the bonus was survivor sided and I have noticed some lag spikes so first make sure if your problem is ping or FPS.

Ive had the same issues.

Out of nowhere It's suddenly very laggy.

My hardware is solid, dust free, drivers updated...Changed nothing in my settings, but the game itself Is struggling. -.-

4k+ Hours without issue, I've heard others say the same thing.

Oh, thanks for your feedback, I hope it will get better with the upcoming update. Same here, checked everything, my laptop is still powerful.

Yes, some lag can happen of course but now it's on every trial and on a whole another level.

Yes, absolutely, I did and the connection works perfectly fine. It's so strange.

Ok, I had games against japanease people for sure (I'm in France) but I don't know about the other trials.

I tried again today and I can't play, I'm so surprised, what the hell is happening ? The framerate is horrific in game AND in the bloodweb. I'll try to reinstall the game.

I would guess it's a hardware issue but would first start by completely removing your display drivers and then reinstalling them. If that doesn't help, start monitoring your temps and speeds for gpu, cpu etc. That'll give you a good idea where to start looking.

Could just need to be taken apart and re-pasted.

I've had this problem in the past and you can contact BHVR on the website, technical issues ticket and they might ask you to send some system stuff and they might be able to help you detect the problem.

I reinstalled all my drivers, and then reinstalled the game. It finally is working normal for me.

(I also turned the Steam overlay off, but that didnt work initially, i havent turned it back on though)

Hello, Yes I reinstalled the game and it solved the issue !

Started up the game today after not playing for a week or so, had the worst stutters ever. Constant stutters, every second, for the entire match lol. Booted up all of my hardware monitoring tools, NOTHING flagged as out of the ordinary. GPU and CPU never ran too hot nor were anywhere near capacity.
I flipped every switch I could think of, turned vsync on and off again, forced DX12 through launch options, capped FPS at a lower 60 - nothing helped.

I'm currently reinstalling the game onto another drive. Here's hoping this works. First time this happened in years, what the heck is going on with this game?
