Try playing both sides to balance it out or just take a break which is the most sane option imo.
playing as a survivor i either get over chased or dont see the killer all game. its only fun when me and the boys do custom
When killers used to be scarier I had a lot more fun with both roles. Killer was more about slashing, you felt like this unstoppable killing mashine - ironically despite there being more palettes on the maps and there being real infinites. Specializing in one killer felt really rewarding and you got the edge in future games. Many killers feel the same now and people call some "viable" whilst others walking memes.
In my survivor games I get these moments fairly rarely when I am truly scared of a killer and put a ton of respect on them. These are the moments I play for as survivor, heart pounding, being scared because someone plays a really good artist, hag or whatever.
Like boydblocking a killer trying to hook someone, you can just stand infront of them to counter that. For a killer to take a perk to deal with this he's using 1/4. A survivor team has 16 perks + items to play with. And this will never be fixed by making a killer who's carried a guy for X time just 1 shot players dumb enough to get that close or anything, instead, killer will get nerfed again to appease Survivors.
As a killer main I would legitimately call what you're describing a skill issue. Someone is bodyblocking you while you are carrying? Whack them. They run in front of you a second time? Whack them again and get another down. A third survivor has run up to body block you? Whack them. You won't get the hook but there are now two or three injured survivors and you can work with that.
But honest question, would it be so bad to use perks that aren't meta? Just for the sake of spicing up gameplay or doing something different? I'm experimenting with perks and having a blast.
I have no idea why people think classic DBD had no looping. Back then you had double windows, infinities, larger maps with 10x the pallets, old DS, insta-blind flashlights, pallet vacuums, old Balanced Landing, insta-healths, insta-gens, old Haddonfield, hatch standoffs and super dark maps with Blendettes & P3 Quentins. Among many more unmentioned BS.
Game has never been in a better state balance wise.
It all depends on what kind of survivors you are playing against. If they're bad or simply not giving 100% to win you don't need meta perks.
There are alternative strategies.
