Flashlights suck
New players can barely use them\
For pro players they are too good and too easy to get
For killers I might as well know I lost when getting pro flashlight people because if they stick in a group I can't do anything and will lose. No matter the skill of the killer you can't avoid being flashlighted while picking a guy up because of the pauses the killers have. It kills me on the inside.

Face a Wall or get Lightborn. Running Lightborn is shockingly common
Yes, flashlights suck.
I got two flashlight squads back to back yesterday - didn't equip lightborn, but only got blinded once or twice.

Don't be afraid to slug if you know someone's waiting for the flashlight save. Work out where the nearest hook is, and when you go to pick a survivor up, try and face a wall, then make sure you keep your camera angled down as you make your way to the hook. Once you've started the hooking animation, it doesn't matter if you get blinded (besides the irritation of course).

Watch some vids or play more, use lightborn if they are such a great issue for you. Fl are not such a great deal.

Thats the problem, I know this and yet you can't always look away.

I know this, and thank you for the positive comment. It is insane.

When you cant face a actual Wall try and face the tallest Object nearby, like a Barrel, Boxes, anything that can hide parts of your POV. If that isnt a Option at all do as ThreeLeg said and bait out the Savior by standing over the Downed and waiting a bit. Usually they come running ASAP and you just chase them instead. Or scare them away shortly and pick the Downed up facing the opposite Direction

again, if they are a pro level survivor and you are in an open, they won't be baited. sometimes there is just nothing you can do but slug and chase someone else

Flashlight bully squads can be taken down if you know what you're doing, the biggest thing is to know when you look up and away and when you look down and away and to be able to bait out attempts to spin you so you can slap them for it.
Additionally, carrying someone to a hook and then slapping them for trying to body block or what have you is a great way to get extra downs, and remember you can always put a survivor down manually as well (even if they get picked back up it gives you another shot at injuring the healer.)
If they're too busy trying to bully you with flashlights then they're too busy doing that to repair gens efficiently as well, so they're slowing themselves down considerably.

Also slug in that case, slug all day baby, if a SWF on full comms is running flashlights to annoy the killer to death then they're wide open for it and deserve it really.

BULLYS are easy because they arent even doing gens like lmao.
But proper human players, the flashlight is just broken and unfun. That status lasts way too long

Like i always say, in public match, lightborn is a perk slot waste, unless you face 3-4 flashlight user, but if there is only one, not worth it

best way to avoid flashlight saves, face a wall or check around or fake pickup

Exactly my toughts , its SUCH a waste of a perk slot . Most survivors with flashlights even on the highest MMR would instanlty start rushing for a save when you are just on top of the downed survivor, simply approach the downed survivor and turn around 8/10 times you will catch them off guard and two things will happen

You hit them
They run off

Both results gives you the abbility to hook the downed survivor. Lightborn works againts the flashlight saves but another perk like any other perk would benefit you more in the long run, the saves are only a real problem if you are middle of nowhere with 0 objects around you.

If you are solo que there is no concept of "pro" only true survival in the sense that the vast majority of games you play either side you will probably lose, either bad team mates as survivor, or SWF teams as killer, although you have a much higher chance 4-1 to win as killer, but that doesnt mean the "matchmaking" is going to do you any favors, especially since most people playing killer will only except 6 hooks as a win.
Dark-Buddha Aug 6, 2023 @ 12:11pm
it's childishly easy to pick up a survivor while facing a wall. And any other time (other than while picking up) you can just look away while continuing to move where you want.
Cat Aug 6, 2023 @ 12:14pm
flashlight sucks for survivors...yes, because you know they will try to follow you in chase instead of doing gens, and a fake pick up will always result in an ez hit.
