Super UltraWide 32:9
Simply put I am looking for the best way to play this game on a Samsung Odyssey G9. Resolution 5120x 1400. Appreciate any help. Coming from a standard 1080p setup so good to hear from others that found out how to enjoy the game on this resolution.

The game doesn't support ultrawide because that would give you an advantage with being able to see more then you're supposed to be. The game runs in a Vert- configuration, which means the wider your screen is, the more it zooms in to fill the screen and of course cuts off the top and bottom by doing so.

Google says this. Not sure if anyone can change this after the AR enforcement that came in a while back for stretched res players.

The best way is to use the setting that forces 16:9 or you're at a disadvantage. Attempting to bypass this will just get you banned.

Odyssey G9 OLED here. It's terrible with this game. In lobbies you can't even see your teammates name because it is cut off, character legs and head are also cut off in lobby screens. In game, if you don't enable 16:9, the game is super zoomed in which gives me motion sickness. So you're either stuck with massive black bars on both sides or stuck with getting motion sickness. At this point just gives us an FOV slider.. you know, a feature that pretty much every other game has. Embarrassing.

I’ve been looking up and down for answer for this…has anyone found anything anywhere.

This is such a specific problem that i don't even think they even thought of doing something about it. You can't increase your fov since that would give you unfair advantage in a competitive game. There are probably 100 players who have ultra wide monitors and why not play a better game instead of dbd in UW lmao.

Does your monitor software / buttons etc have the ability to split to [16:9][16:9] ? side by side?

The game balances ultra wide by intentionally limiting your vertical ratio. It kind of sucks and doesn't make much sense but it's something you have to decide if you like or not.

To be fair, the game never officially supported ultrawide. The config workaround used by the players was intentionally blocked by the dev in 2017.

Yet they don't apply the same logic to 16:10 and 4:3, which not only get the same FOV as 16:9 users but also a drastic increase in the vertical FOV, resulting in some people playing at those resolutions even on a 16:9 monitor.

Moreover, as discussed here time and time again, the advantage argument doesn't hold and it does not extend to any other hardware differences. A gamepad player may be crippled or helped compared to a keyboard and mouse player. The same is true for 2.0 vs 5.1 speakers, latency differences, 60 vs 240 FPS, and so forth. Some games like Party Animals add a global delay to latency to make up for those. Why does DbD not follow suit?

As for ultrawide, the majority of the highest paid competitive games natively support it while preserving the vertical field of view. Dota 2, PUBG (21:9 only), CS 2, Fortnite, Rocket League, Siege, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Apex Legends and Overwatch 2 (21:9), to name a few straight off the top earnings list.

As popular as this game is I can't believe that there isn't support. As for giving an advantage it doesn't really since most players are naturally focused on what is in front of them. I have an ultrawide and yes we can see more if we are looking all the way left to right. But for the most part all I see is what is in front of me. However, I also am ok with playing in the 16:9 format. I just wish that it would allow support for the lobby. We earn the or purchase the characters outfits and can not see the head or feet because of the zoom on the lobby screen. The devs could at least fix that.

So as a killer main I can claim it is pointless to limit fov with resolution. Killers already get fov increase which is good, so should survivors just to balance things out. Everyone has different types of screens and pushing blackbars over wide resolution causes huge disadvantage and makes the game hard to play. This comment comes from 3440x1440p player
