Toxic became normal. As for tunnelling its efficient to get to 3v1 as fast as possible now so a lot of content creators are doing it, therefor everyone seems to be doing it.
And also your rating is based purely on escapes as survivor and kills as killer. So people do anything to achieve that, its not the players, its the system in place by the devs.
I guess I missed something here. I always thought that it doesn't matter if you escaped or not bc you still get rating points if you were just good at some aspects of the match.
And also, what is SBMM? (im really clueless)
Skill Based Match Making. So just like other comp games you get queued up with those of " equal skill".
And no as survivor you can do gens, unhook, heal, maybe run the killer for 3 gens BUT if you dont escape that wasnt a skilled play and you lose rating.
Killers tunnel to secure kills as thats also all that matters. Everyone seems to enjoy chases but the game does its best to discourage that. Why go for others when you can secure a kill ? You only need 2 to draw according to the system in place.
Wow. If it's true, the game is now even more messed up for me. Just wow.
On top of that, there are also many killers who are obviously so overwhelmed at fighting worthy survivors that they us an asocial trick. These kind of killer players can apparently only win if they play against 'unsuspecting newbs'.
They achieve this by starting a game in droves at night as an AFK killer, thereby forcing the survivors in a totally boring round of only repairing gens.
Because the survivors all escape, increases the survivor's matchmaking rank. Which means that in future games they will get killers that are way too strong and too experienced for them.
And at the same time, the killer's matchmaking rank drops because he didn't make a single kill this round. As a result, the killer soon gets even easier and even less experienced survivors as 'easy victims'.
And exactly this many AFK Players at night, as well as the resulting totally unbalanced matches, destroy the whole game!
The matchmaking system is just totally broken and junk. It would have to calculate the player's skill based on much smarter parameters. And it should automatically detect and penalize AFK players.
For both, the developers are either too lazy, too stupid, or they simply don't care how much the players suffer from it. Either way, it's a known problem (the DpD support has even confirmed it to me) and nothing is being done about it.
And the only thing we could do is if the killers stop starting AFK rounds. And/or the survivors record a video of each AFK killer and send it to the DpD support. Because that's the only way the DpD support will punish this AFK killer.
I do my part, record about 5 videos every night I play...
But that's no use unless many more survivors help out. But instead the survivors are stupid and walk out of the gate :-( ...if they at least would let the timer run out and die like that at the end. So that her own MMR doesn't go up and the killer's MMR doesn't go down...
Idk; the community was/is also extreme so the dev's have actually no idea how to balance it right. And here you have it.
It might sound strange: But maybe ppl don't actually care about BPS anymore, so the limit to just quit the game is much lower now.
Edit: Addendum: Since the MMR is solo-based it is actually no wonder why survivor players got selfish. I mean: It actually rewards you for playing like that.
And yes you are right its a bad experience...
