Starstruck removed from Nurse.
Probably the biggest change most people have been looking for out of Nurse. With this finally being gone Nurse is nowhere near the threat she used to be especially on Midwich and Pig map.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Having a teleporting insta-down killer is pretty rough, and I think cutting the 'insta-down' part out is a good move.

It's hitting a lot of perks, though, and I'm worried that a Nurse with the meta slowdown combos will be just as deadly, just... with everything taking more time (Gens & her killing the survs)

ripbozo nurses

So I guess going forward, they're going to disable specific killers from using specific perks and call it balancing?

Nurse's blink attacks never should have counted as regular M1s. This is a very reasonable change stop crying.

She can still use Starstruck, she just has to use it like all other killers do. No more getting it for "free".

Probably helps to mention I don't play Nurse. The way the topic is worded suggests the perk was killswitched for her. With that not being the case I don't understand what this means. Is it an addon or something?

Nurse's attack after teleporting will no longer trigger perks that work with basic attacks. So people that are exposed will no longer go down in one hit, Sloppy Butcher won't apply Mangled + Hemorrhage, Jolt won't damage generators nearby, etc.

Starstruck will still work to stop bodyblocking, and on regular M1s.. It just won't be as abusively powerful on this particular killer.

Blight's power is a special attack, why isn't Nurse? Simply because when she was released, both "Exposed" and "Special attack" weren't concepts in DbD. This is just bringing her to today's flavor.

Fair, you're not wrong.

The issue is that Starstruck caused the "Exposed" effect, and when a survivor is exposed they can be downed in one basic hit. The thing is that Nurse's power - her teleporting attack - was for some reason always interpreted by the game as a basic hit, rather than a special attack. So if a Nurse used Starstruck she was able to not only teleport straight to a player (through walls and everything else), she was able to down them immediately upon doing so. When paired with the right perks and / or addons a good Nurse player could hook someone and then bounce from one survivor to the next, downing all of them unusually quickly.

This new change has made it so that if Nurse teleports to someone and hits them out of her teleport, they won't immediately go down. She has to use a plain attack (in other words, a basic swing while chasing a survivor normally) to get use out of Starstruck, which is how it works for other killers.

This too, I hadn't even considered all of these other advantages. Jeez, she was even more OP than I thought. Why did this take so long?

imma be real bro nurses are just gonna run 2 more slowdown now so you're just gonna be stuck in a nurse match for longer now and still lose

That wont work either mate.

Status perks are essentially useless on her now, while she can still mori, she cant insta down unless its a normal hit.
