Darkness Revealed seems like the worst designed perk ever
Imagine being a newish survivor, having no clue where the lockers are on the map and having a killer use this every 30 seconds and then zoom in on you. I got >150 hours in this game and still can't be bothered to remember locker locations. At least with BBQ and Murmurs, you know when they are going to proc and can get ready or even counter it by going in a locker. I just feel like giving the killer a way to proc aura reading kills the hide and seek nature of the game.
Disclaimer: I haven't played in 2 weeks, doubt I'll return, and was a killer main on top of that, so I couldn't care less really. But I just had to come here and rant as I felt this kind of design goes against the very nature of the game in my eyes.

if you think new players being sacked is due to this single ♥♥♥♥ perk and not the terrible matchmaking or multitude of good perks/combos/killers/addons/items is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid and demonstrates your lack of game sense. 150 hours and already has ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ opinions.

The ♥♥♥♥ are you on about. They literally made a perk that allows all survivors to heal themselves an infinite amount of times at like 175% speed, without having self care, but you feel that this locker searching aura perk is OP? bro, stay gone.

Only certain killers can profit off the perk TBH, like Huntress and teleporters. It shines the most if it is used within indoor maps where lockers are clustered together.

so your complaint is.. Survivors will have to learn maps?.. Okay then.

150 hours is literally NOTHING.

You're a new player yourself so ofc you think this will be OP. Keep in mind there are FOUR survivors and only ONE killer. One thing I have noticed with young blood, you all expect to solo the killer lmao.

You realize the other perks to track survivors that aren't quite easy to pick up on, right?

Discordance? Surveillance? Hoarder? Hell, Spies from the shadows if you really want to go for a stretch about survivor detection. You might be able to pick on some of these with enough hours, but the same would go for the locker perk as well.

You must also realize that, as a killer, 9/10 killers cannot afford the time to open random lockers in hopes of maybe finding a survivor. This is more for trickster/huntress/dredge who generally need to open up lockers for their powers to work in the first place.

If a killer wants to find a survivor and doesn't have any aura perks, guess where they're gonna go? To a generator. Guess where a survivor is going to be? At a generator.

Finding a survivor is often not the challenging part for most killers. It's downing them. And the locker perk does two things for that: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Just depends on anyones skill as A killer/survivor. you can pretty much counter everything if you know what you're doing. that's just me though.

If matches were longer to allow for this hide and seek match to flourish instead of the game being in a situation where even if killer is always apply pressure to gens they can very easily still lose due to gen speeds going by in a flash you might have a point, but due to the nature of the state of the game allowing the hide and seek mechanic just outright sucks balls for killers. It isn't engaging to be walking around forever to find nobody, while it is tense from the survivors side, it feels bad for the killer. Game simply isn't a very fun game of hide and seek so it has be more like freeze tag.

So run shadow step if you really feel intimidated by the perk. Big part of the balance problems stems from devs catering to the ultra casuals that don't bother to learn the game.
Unless you are playing Dredge Huntress Trickster there is no reason to run the perk or worry about it.

This^

It's not a good perk and even those who use lockers for their power it will never be used as it only procs if they are within 8m. There are far better ones to use and imo its not worth a slot.

If by chance it is ran by some when they start checking a locker survivors in the area will just run away making the aura reading useless as they will be at the next loop anyway.

I lowkey think locker perks also aren't terrible on Artist. Iron Maiden means they can't hop in a locker to lose birds without being exposed. Darkness Revealed would help you know where to send crows. Not the best choice, obviously, but I think it's viable.
